As for the second generation of humans born within this world . children who grew up under circumstances entirely different from those of their parents, who had come from the outside world burdened by their pasts, crimes, and the consequences of their actions . Dan continued to nourish them with healing chakra to help them survive in an environment that was still foreign to their bodies.
Although they inherited a reasonable degree of resistance and immunity from the first generation, whose bodies had spent many years silently adapting to countless microbes and viruses, that alone was not enough. The biological threats of this world were far too severe to be overcome through natural inheritance in only one or two generations without outside assistance.
Therefore, Dan continued supplying them with healing chakra, allowing their bodies to endure and complete the adaptation process their parents had begun. This time, however, he also eased their suffering throughout the process. These children had been born into this world, had never chosen the path their parents had taken, and had committed none of the crimes that deserved punishment. They bore no responsibility for the past and should not be forced to carry the burden of those who came before them.
On this point, Dan was perfectly clear with himself. He did not believe that guilt could be inherited or that the children of criminals should pay for their parents' sins. The parents had received the punishment they deserved and endured the suffering brought about by their own actions. But this new generation, born into this world and knowing no other, deserved a genuine chance at a good life rather than the lifetime of chronic pain endured by those before them.
For that reason, he helped them live long and healthy lives. Moreover, the regions where humanity had been settled were isolated from the world's greatest dangers and rich in food and water, allowing them to enjoy relatively comfortable lives. Dan regarded this period, during which humanity lived under his protection, as an age of limited prosperity or as he called it in his own mind, the Beginner Stage.
The purpose was never to create a generation permanently dependent on external protection. Instead, it was to establish a strong biological foundation that would eventually allow humanity to survive on its own and confront the dangers of this world. Once humans had adapted and acquired sufficient immunity, the influence of his healing chakra gradually faded, and he left them to face the vast world by themselves.
That moment arrived roughly two thousand years later, after many generations had come and gone. Once humanity had developed robust immunity against the countless biological remnants originating from different planets, the healing chakra that had sustained them finally withdrew.
Humanity was then forced to confront the enormous world and its countless dangers and threats from which their isolated settlements had protected them throughout the previous era. Gigantic, powerful creatures hunted and devoured them as prey. Some intelligent species enslaved humans to serve their needs, while others used them as living incubators for their offspring, one of the cruelest and most horrifying fates humanity endured during this period.
Many humans never managed to escape such destinies. The gap separating them from the other inhabitants of this world had grown immense after countless ages of unequal development.
Even though awakening chakra in this world was far easier than in the outside world thanks to the extraordinary density of natural energy permeating every corner of it . that advantage did not automatically grant humanity enough strength to overcome the threats surrounding them. The other races possessed far greater reserves of chakra, vastly superior abilities, and a much longer history of harnessing this dense natural energy. Above all, they had existed for far longer.
As a result, even the strongest humans those who awakened and cultivated their chakra rarely distinguished themselves. The greatest achievement of humanity during this era was establishing hidden settlements capable of protecting their inhabitants from external threats well enough to survive, though not to truly prosper.
Thus, scattered hidden cities and small nations began to appear across different regions of the immense continent. They were built in places difficult to reach or naturally concealed from the dominant creatures that ruled the world. Some communities even discovered that the deep underground offered greater safety than the exposed surface, settling within vast caverns and enormous tunnel networks far from the eyes of the creatures roaming above.
This miserable state of humanity did not surprise Dan in the slightest. He had designed the world precisely this way because genuine danger was the whetstone upon which true strength was forged. When his own sons and daughters eventually entered this world, they too would encounter challenges that would force them to draw out the very best within themselves and evolve to even greater heights.
