The other change brought about by Dan's presence and his family in this world, one he had never anticipated, was that he himself appeared destined to become the cause of this powerful kingdom's downfall.
"It seems that because of my presence in this world, the course of history has changed... and this kingdom's end will come as a result of my influence."
Dan muttered to himself as he came to terms with this unforeseen development. He realized that another consequence of his existence in this world was that he himself would likely become the reason for the destruction of the powerful kingdom whose growth he had watched for so long.
According to what he remembered from the movie, the Kingdom of Gelel originally fell because of deep internal divisions. Those conflicts eventually split the royal clan into two opposing factions.
One faction wished to make greater and greater use of the Gelel Stone, driven by ambition and the desire to push their power to its absolute limits. The other regarded that immense power as a genuine threat to both themselves and the kingdom's stability. They feared it would eventually spiral beyond anyone's control and bring about disasters from which there would be no recovery. This disagreement escalated into open conflict, and the internal struggle gradually weakened the kingdom from within until it ultimately collapsed. Afterward, the royal clan scattered into numerous branches spread across different regions.
What Dan observed now, however, was completely different from that original course of events.
The disagreements within the ruling clan had indeed occurred, but the outcome had been entirely different from that depicted in the movie. Instead of a balanced civil conflict that weakened both sides, the extremist faction had seized complete control of the government.
Those extremists imposed their will upon the kingdom, sidelining their opponents and reducing their influence to almost nothing. Once they secured absolute authority, their confidence grew dramatically. They were no longer satisfied with the lands and resources already under their control. Instead, they intensified their campaigns of conquest, invading neighboring countries one after another. Their military campaigns were highly organized and empowered by the Gelel Stone and the advanced technologies the kingdom had developed over generations. Their expansion continued at an astonishing pace until they had conquered numerous kingdoms and territories, eventually reaching the very borders of the Blue Dragon Kingdom.
And that was where the true issue lay.
Throughout the world, it was common knowledge that the Blue Dragon Kingdom was the strongest nation in existence. Although it pursued a peaceful foreign policy, rejected territorial expansion, and preferred stability and diplomatic relations, no nation dared provoke it without reason. Everyone understood the immense power hidden beneath its peaceful exterior and treated it with the utmost caution.
Ironically, it was precisely this reality that drove the extremists now ruling the Kingdom of Gelel.
To them, the Blue Dragon Kingdom had become the final obstacle standing in the way of their ultimate ambition: unifying the entire continent beneath their rule. It was no longer merely a question of borders or resources. They believed they had to eliminate the only power capable of preventing the completion of their grand design. As a result, they began viewing the Blue Dragon Kingdom as an obstacle that had to be removed.
Although they had not yet officially declared war, their preparations left little room for doubt.
They had already begun gathering armies from every corner of their empire, reorganizing them into larger military formations. Vast quantities of resources were being stockpiled, from food supplies to the materials required to manufacture weapons powered by the Gelel Stone. Military camps were established near the border, intensive training exercises were conducted without interruption, and a significant portion of their research efforts was redirected toward developing even more devastating offensive technologies. None of these movements remained hidden.
Amid all of this, Dan finally understood that his own existence had altered the flow of history at its very foundation. Had he never existed, events would likely have unfolded exactly as they had in the movie, with the kingdom collapsing from internal conflict and the royal clan scattering.
Instead, his presence had changed the equation in ways he had never foreseen, allowing the extremist faction to seize complete control and giving them the confidence to pursue conquest.
Now, it seemed that the Kingdom of Gelel would not meet its end through internal division and civil war.
Its downfall would instead come through the confrontation it was now preparing against the Blue Dragon Kingdom.
