Chapter 296 - Chapter 296 : Fenrick

After Sophia finished her legendary journey in the Inner World, leaving behind a legacy and legends of the legendary Queen of Slaughter, the next person to enter the world was not one of Dan's older children or descendants, but rather one of the middle generation and one of his smartest children of all, Fenrick, a man known for his unquenchable enthusiasm and insatiable curiosity.

Dan's choice of Fenrick for this experiment was not arbitrary at all, but rather a decision that had been carefully considered, mainly because of the nature of Fenrick's unique Path, a Path related to biological evolution in every sense of the term.

Ever since childhood, Fenrick had been fascinated by the study of living creatures, analyzing their structures, how they adapted to their environments, and how they could be modified and improved, and he possessed an innate ability to see the hidden possibilities within all of that.

The deeper reason behind choosing Fenrick was that Dan wanted to increase the depth of the world on an even greater and broader scale, enriching it with enormous biological diversity by unleashing the madness of Fenrick's scientific and research pursuits that had been buried within him.

This young man, who was obsessed with science, carried countless ideas in his mind about how to modify creatures, how to merge their genes, and how to create entirely new species, and Dan understood perfectly well that if this madness were guided in the right way, it could produce an enormous wealth of biological diversity that would improve the Inner World.

Therefore, he gave him a clear and specific task: to try to develop other, different races based on the living creatures that already existed within the Inner World, specifically the three major races that formed its backbone: humans, who were the most numerous and diverse; the Gray Dwarves; and the Hand Lizards.

Dan had established one particularly important condition, which was that the foundation of these new races had to rely primarily on human genes, so that they would not develop reproductive isolation from humans in the future, allowing them to interbreed and produce offspring. This, in turn, would allow other new species to emerge naturally and spontaneously over time, without the need for constant external intervention, ensuring the continued expansion of this diversity.

And so, during the years that followed Fenrick's entry into the Inner World, the mad scientist unleashed everything that had been suppressed within him in the form of bold ideas and dangerous experiments.

There were no longer any limits to his curiosity, nor any restraints on his experiments. He conducted countless experiments that could not possibly be numbered; some were astonishingly successful, while others ended in complete and disastrous failure. Yet every experiment, whether successful or failed, added to his knowledge, broadened his horizons, and made the next experiment more precise and refined.

As time passed, different and diverse creatures began appearing throughout the Outer Continent, as Fenrick moved from place to place, leaving behind traces of his creations. Some forests became home to tiny fairies with transparent wings that shimmered beneath the moonlight, while in certain mountainous regions, powerful dwarves appeared, living deep within caves and digging tunnels that stretched for great distances. Giants also appeared in humanoid forms, but they were many times taller than ordinary humans.

Hidden settlements also began to appear, inhabited by half-beasts who combined human and animal traits in a strange harmony. Even the skies were not spared from Fenrick's genius. Flying lizards resembling small dragons appeared there, flapping their leathery wings above the mountains and valleys as they searched for prey or played within the currents of the air.

All these new creatures gradually began changing the appearance of the Outer Continent, greatly increasing its diversity and depth. Nevertheless, the three major races , the humans, the Gray Dwarves, and the Hand Lizards . remained dominant over most regions, because their populations were still far greater, and their collective strength surpassed that of any of the new races, which were still in the early stages of their formation.

Yet wherever Fenrick went, and wherever he stayed even for a short period of time, strange races would begin to appear, as though the very land touched by his feet suddenly became fertile ground for his mad creations.
