Chapter 307 - Chapter 307 : Rise

Sera fell to her knees, her body trembling from the excruciating pain that was spreading through every part of her, as the Blood Curse coursed through her veins like poison, burning her from within and causing her body to break apart piece by piece.

But the physical pain was nothing compared to what she was feeling at that moment. Seeing the condition of her followers and the citizens of her kingdom, with nothing left of them except lifeless corpses, and seeing the betrayal of her favorite knight, Mordred, who had once carried his weapon in her defense before turning against her and killing everyone she loved, and then seeing him ultimately being used as a tool by her sworn enemy, the Mother Witch, only to be coldly murdered before her very eyes—all of it made her wish that the earth would split open beneath her feet and swallow her, ending this torment.

While she was drowning in this state of pain and sorrow, she began to hear faint voices at first, which gradually grew louder.

The voices sounded incredibly familiar to her, because they were the voices of her fallen knights calling out her name. She raised her head and looked around, wondering whether their voices were real or merely hallucinations.

Deep down, she knew that she would not die, because this world had been designed by her father, Dan, specifically for this purpose. It was an inner world created as a place for them to train, and despite the severity of the injuries they might suffer, the lives of the members of the Walt family here were protected by special laws that prevented true death from coming to any of his children or descendants.

But the psychological pain she was experiencing from losing her kingdom and her beloved followers was far worse than any physical wound, and it made her genuinely wish for death so that she could finally rest from the nightmare she was living through.

The voices continued to grow louder, becoming clearer as they began to surround her from every direction.

"Long live the King."

"Long live the King."

"Rise, our King. Rise, our King."

Then the voices of the citizens who had lived under her protection and had also fallen in this tragedy joined them.

The voices multiplied, as though everyone who had been under her rule, everyone who had died because of Mordred's betrayal, had all begun shouting into her ears, encouraging her and begging her not to surrender.

Sera knew from what she had learned from her father that the dead never returned to life in this world or in any other world. Therefore, she realized that the only explanation for this phenomenon was that these voices were not the souls of the dead, but rather copies influenced by spiritual energy, similar to what happened in the Pure Land of the outer world, where the spiritual energy of the dead gathered together to form their memories and echoes. Dan had previously told her that he had created a similar mechanism within the inner world as well.

Then, suddenly, something astonishing happened. Her sword, which was embedded in the ground before her, began radiating a pulsing sky-blue light, growing stronger with every voice that rose around her. The sword was responding to those calls.

As for the Mother Witch, who was standing nearby waiting for the Knight King's death, believing that she had finally defeated her sworn enemy, her expression suddenly changed. She could see the sword beginning to change and glow, and she felt that things were starting to slip out of her control.

The spiritual energy influenced by the followers and citizens of the Kingdom of the Lake began gathering around the sword and merging with it, transforming it into a weapon carrying the will of a kingdom that refused to die so easily.

At the same time, Sera looked at what was happening, tears streaming down her face of grief, regret, and happiness mixed with astonishment and hope. The sword continued glowing brighter and brighter until twelve circles appeared along its shimmering blue blade, each one carrying a strange inscription.

Then, without hesitation, Sera rose from where she had fallen, as though the pain that had paralyzed her body had suddenly vanished. She extended her hand steadily and placed it upon the hilt of the radiant sword.

She felt its warmth pierce through her glove and reach her palm, then travel up her arm and finally reach her heart. In a sorrowful voice, she spoke while looking at the sword as though she were speaking to it.

"It seems you did not abandon your failed King."

Then, at the decisive moment, she pulled the sword from the ground with all her strength. The instant the sword was freed from its place—

Fwoooooosh!

A raging blue wave spread in every direction as a result of Sera drawing the sword, sweeping across the entire area with a beautiful blue light that radiated hope and pride.
