Chapter 315 - Chapter 315 : Lesson

Leon slowly extended his hand toward the corpse floating in the river, and it immediately appeared between his hands. Hashirama and Madara's eyes widened, and they understood that the person standing before them was no ordinary individual, but an existence of an entirely different level, perhaps far stronger than they could imagine. They raised their vigilance to the highest degree and prepared themselves for anything, because someone capable of such abilities could not be predicted.

But Leon did not even raise his head, his eyes still fixed upon the corpse in his hands, and he said in a calm voice:

"There is no need for you two annoying children to get tense. I am not such a bastard that I would ever think of hurting children."

Then he raised his index finger and pointed toward the ground. A grave-shaped hole immediately appeared where he pointed, and the corpse smoothly floated into the grave until it settled inside. He then pointed a third time, and the hole closed in on itself, leaving the ground exactly as it had been before. This scene only increased the two children's astonishment and confirmed to them that this person possessed extraordinary abilities.

Leon raised his head after finishing the burial and looked at the two children with a seriousness that had not appeared on his face before. His voice became slightly deeper, as though he were giving them an important lesson about life:

"No matter how bloody the hatred and vengeance between enemies may be, and no matter how deep the disagreements or how severe the wounds, there must always be certain boundaries and rules that we preserve. For example, if you see a human corpse lying out in the open like this, you should bury it. That is what separates and distinguishes us humans from wild beasts. Humanity is not merely a word; it is demonstrated through actions. Burying the dead is one of those actions that makes us human. Even if the dead person was an enemy, death erases everything and makes everyone equal in the end."

The two children listened to Leon's words with intense attention, and their expressions became extremely serious, as though those words had entered their hearts and left a deep impression upon them. Hashirama stared at the grave that had disappeared while contemplating the meaning of what had been said. Madara's eyes, meanwhile, carried a trace of thoughtfulness, as though he were trying to reconcile those words with the world of bloodshed and combat that he knew.

Then, breaking the serious atmosphere that had settled over them, Leon returned to his lighthearted tone and raised his voice slightly, as though he wanted to drive away the seriousness lingering in the air:

"Alright, now get out of here, you two annoying children. I want to continue my nap, which you interrupted. I've already lost enough of my time because of you, and I want to make up for it now."

"You vagabond, how dare you throw us out like this? We were here before you came, and this is our land! You have no right to ask us to leave!"

Madara shouted at him, still angry about everything that had happened. But this time, his anger was not pure. It was mixed with another feeling, perhaps respect, curiosity, or even a hidden admiration that he himself could not explain. Yet he chose to express it through anger.

Hashirama, on the other hand, smiled faintly. He felt as though this encounter had been destined to happen, and that the blue-haired young man before them had not treated them like mere children, but rather as two people capable of understanding the lessons of life.

It was as though he had given them something incredibly rare: a sense of safety and comfort. Even his presence itself brought a feeling of relaxation, something Hashirama had rarely experienced during his short life filled with wars and bloodshed. In truth, this was the exact same feeling Madara had experienced, but he did not know how to express it, so he tried to conceal his embarrassment behind his loud voice and challenging gaze.

Then, with a swift movement, Leon climbed back onto a branch of the tree and lay down upon it gracefully. He closed his eyes as he prepared to return to sleep, then spoke his final words before drifting into slumber, his voice now drowsy:

"Sheesh... you two annoying children... just leave and let me sleep."

Madara looked at him, and all the words he had tried to say disappeared from his mouth. Only a single word escaped him, carrying all of his confusion, admiration, and anger at once:

"You..."

Then he stopped and could not continue. He looked toward Hashirama, who was smiling. After a moment of silence, Madara sighed, feeling that he had to leave, not because he wanted to, but because he felt that the encounter had come to an end.

The two children looked at each other and exchanged faint smiles, as though there were an unspoken agreement between them. Then each departed in a different direction, leaving Leon alone on the branch of his tree, deeply asleep, as though everything that had happened had been nothing more than a fleeting dream on a peaceful summer day.
