Ray POV
Perhaps calling her beautiful was an understatement.
Because whenever I looked into her eyes, it felt as though a pure and untainted rainbow shimmered within them, and it gave me a glimpse into the soul of a woman who was gentle, genuine, and lovely.
It might sound embarrassingly sappy, but whenever I paid close attention to her, everything else seemed to fade into the background—the room, the world, every distant sound—until all that remained was her presence before me.
There was a uniquely solemn atmosphere between us as she wrapped a bandage around my knuckles.
It looked funny, because I didn't think it was necessary. Yet, this woman always had her way of making me think and do something irrational, such as sitting like an idiot while she took care of me like a little boy who had accidentally gotten hurt.
"Alright, all done," she said with a thin smile. "Now you can go and start the day."
