There was a storm brewing in my heart. My chest felt tight as I imagined Claudia staring at Miles as if he was the light in her world. She had those eyes full of love in her wedding photo, and I often checked on that picture just to make sure that I remembered the humiliation after knowing that Claudia broke up with me for a loser like Miles Hoffman.
All the mirth and light atmosphere in the office vanished instantly. My eyes were hyperfocused on him, wanting to know more about his encounter with Claudia, to see what happened between them and if there was a spark of love in their eyes.
