Ray POV
Alcohol made me bolder. Sometimes I was unable to stop myself from doing or saying something that I usually kept secret when I was fully sober.
However, no matter how many shots I took, my mind still retained its clarity.
When Claudia walked in, I was busy kissing her wedding ring. My mind was racing because of the alcohol, and I couldn't help fantasizing about the idea that Claudia and I would get married and build our family together.
She had been pretty clueless about 'the woman' that I was in love with, very typical of her.
Even back then, she told me that I never loved her, and I was just toying with her heart.
That was absolutely wrong.
Because back then, she was the only one who could give me peace of mind.
Going on a date with her started off as a chore I had to do to maintain our 'relationship'. But eventually, it became a habit that I looked forward to every weekend, hoping to see her smile, to hear her laugh.
