I flicked her forehead and said, "Wake up, you little shit. Do you still love your Mommy? Or are you upset because I pushed you down the stairs?"
"Just so you know, I pushed you down because that's all you're good for. Now, you need to wake up and be useful for me again, or I'll have to sell you early. My mother sold me when I was fourteen, should I sell you once you're six or seven?"
I wasn't expecting much, honestly. Even when I was desperate, I was clear enough to know that nobody could guarantee the time frame until someone woke up from a coma.
I was just tormenting my daughter to ease myself up a little. Of course, I wouldn't sell her to the highest bidder at six. Maybe once she was ten or eleven, then I'd reconsider it.
For one, the only way out of this was to ask Ray for help. But with him refusing to accept the call, did that mean he already knew about Aurora waking up and decided to just ditch me?
