Ray POV
"W-what's wrong, Ray? Did you hit something?" she asked in panic.
But here I was, panicking over a different thing.
"Don't ever say that again, Claudia," I said calmly, yet the grimness in my tone must've shocked her. She fell into a long silence, and I didn't intend to speak anymore. I was actually upset by what she said.
How could she leave me alone? Did she not know how I could snap and become crazy if she disappeared?
"S-say what? T-that you shouldn't be like your grandpa once I die?"
"You're not going to die," I said firmly, as if convincing myself that nothing bad would happen to my beloved. "And even if you do, then I'll follow you to the grave. We're going to be buried in the same casket, and if you die first, then I'll drink poison so we can be together."
I was rambling, I knew it. But I couldn't help it, because Claudia was saying some scary stuff that I didn't want to imagine.
