Chapter 17 - Chapter 17 Barrett's Thought Process

Next to the giant fishbowls, Perona was bored, splashing water with the mermaid, Ida.

"Sister Robin, I feel like that bad guy and Sister Stella have been disappearing a lot these past few days."

Robin's face flushed.

Robin, who was already seven years old and had read many books, clearly understood much more than Perona.

However, at this time, she had not yet awakened the cunning trait from the original story; otherwise, she might have encouraged Perona to go and see.

"Little kids shouldn't worry about so much."

"And in the Holy Land, you must show respect to His Highness. If other Celestial Dragons hear about it, it will affect His Highness's dignity."

Perona pouted in dissatisfaction:

"I know, I know, you're so long-winded."

Then she whispered:

"You're clearly a child yourself."

Seeing Robin looking at her with a half-smile, Perona's heart immediately fluttered.

Just as she was about to beg for mercy, Robin threw her into the fishbowls.

"Wah! Help!"

Gurgle... As a bunch of bubbles floated to the surface, the mermaid, Ida, gently lifted Perona.

Perona spat out two mouthfuls of water and waved her little fists at Robin:

"Damn it! You woman, just wait! I will definitely get my revenge!"

Immediately, she rolled her eyes, scooped up water, and splashed it at Robin.

Robin, who didn't have time to react, was instantly drenched.

The smile on Robin's face stiffened for a moment, then she crossed her arms over her chest.

Immediately, several arms grew on Perona's body, instantly pulling her into the water.

Gurgle

...Life back in Mary Geoise was a bit boring. Blake could only engage in the various activities inherent to Celestial Dragons every day.

Fortunately, Stella was with him.

After that day, accompanied by Blake's use of a counter-poison, Stella, who was already very skilled at regulating her emotions, completely got rid of the psychological impact brought by the Slave gladiator arena, dedicating her whole heart and soul to Blake.

Perhaps Stella was too invested.

Or perhaps the original plot was at play.

Blake always felt that Stella was more interesting than the queen and princess he brought back from the Taya Kingdom.

While Blake was living a life of eating and waiting to die, the situation on the Grand Line was tumultuous.

A Buster Call fleet, led by Admiral Sengoku and comprising Vice Admiral Garp and other Navy Vice Admirals, was majestically heading towards the island where Douglas Bullet was located.

After the Gorosei decided to deal with Bullet, the guy not only didn't rein himself in but instead destroyed several Navy bases in the New World, causing a serious shortage in the Navy's troop deployment in the latter half of the Grand Line.

He even openly challenged the World Government, vowing to "destroy the World Government's rule" and then kill all Admirals and Emperor of the Seas, completely surpassing Roger.

Indeed, according to Bullet's way of thinking, Roger was more powerful than the World Government, and destroying the World Government wouldn't even count as surpassing Roger.

Originally, regarding the World Government's order for the Navy to launch a Buster Call in the New World, the dovish faction within the Navy was still hesitant.

After all, after the Rocks Pirates disbanded, the great pirates of the New World each occupied a sea area, forming a situation of mutual checks and balances, and the Navy's rash intervention might break this balance.

But after Bullet destroyed several Navy bases and killed countless Navy soldiers, even the most conservative individuals within the Navy couldn't sit still.

After all, there were no deserter kings in the Navy yet.

Thus, the Buster Call fleet arrived at Bullet's location: Lakan Gardo Island.

This was originally the Navy's G4 branch, but now it had been reduced to ruins.

The bodies of the branch Navy were scattered on the ground.

Sengoku stood at the bow of the command ship, gazing at the sturdy figure standing at the port in the distance, his brows slightly furrowed.

Clearly, the opponent had already learned of the Navy's impending arrival.

But now was not the time to think about such things. Sengoku, while directing the fleet to surround Lakan Gardo Island, loudly declared:

"Pirate Douglas Bullet, you have destroyed Navy bases and challenged the World Government. Surrender immediately! I will personally send you to Impel Down!"

Bullet sneered:

"You old man, you think you can catch me?"

"Since you've come looking for me, be the first Admiral to die by my hand!"

With that, Bullet's figure instantly shot into the sky, descending directly towards the fleet that had not yet fully dispersed.

His Armament Haki, which could no longer be underestimated, coated his fists with a layer of jet-Blake dark light, and he smashed a powerful punch onto the bow of the foremost warship.

The massive warship was like a toy in Bullet's hands.

The bow instantly plunged into the sea, and the entire ship emitted a grating "creak" before shattering with a crash.

Countless Marines, bleeding from all orifices, fell into the sea like dumplings, swept away by the waves, and had already disappeared from the surface.

However, the fragments of the ship did not drift on the sea but instead surged towards Bullet, instantly forming a giant figure around his body.

"Damn it!"

Sengoku cursed under his breath. He hadn't expected Bullet, at barely over twenty years old, to possess such a level of attack strength.

Garp, who was standing beside Sengoku picking his nose, still chuckled at the sight:

"Don't be angry, Sengoku. Let me test this kid's abilities."

After speaking, he didn't wait for Sengoku's agreement, but leaped and appeared before Bullet.

"Hmm?"

Garp's speed was too fast; Bullet's Observation Haki couldn't predict the future to that extent.

By the time he noticed Garp, the opponent's fist had already struck.

Bullet, clad in giant armor made of warship fragments, shielded himself with his hands, using Armament Haki for defense.

Boom!

After a dull thud, Bullet's figure flew backward, crashing onto the island and smashing through several buildings before stopping.

Garp landed on the beach, just about to look for Bullet's traces, when Bullet's massive figure emerged from the smoke ahead, completely unharmed.

Garp was not surprised but rather delighted:

"Kid! Try my iron fist again!"

"Fist Bone: Galaxy Impact!"

Bullet was equally unwilling to show weakness and met the punch:

"I've long wanted to see what abilities you, the 'Marine Hero,' truly possess! Why do you dare to chase Roger?"

Bullet's current mindset was somewhat similar to Golden Lion's; both were obsessed with Roger, and whenever they encountered people or things related to Roger, they would instantly lose their minds.

The two thus exchanged punches and kicks, each collision generating a massive sonic boom that made the already ravaged Lakan Gardo Island totter.

The two fought from morning until evening. Sengoku, who had already positioned all the warships, gritted his teeth as he looked at the two on the island, who showed no signs of fatigue, and ordered:

"Open fire!"

"But Admiral Sengoku, Vice Admiral Garp is still on the island."

The messenger beside him hesitated.

"Don't worry about him, that guy won't die. Fire!"
