Black was not usually a person who enjoyed fighting and killing.
At least, that was the case before there was a conflict of interest between the two parties.
But when facing races other than humans, reasoning was truly useless.
Well, even with humans in this world, reasoning with them wasn't very effective.
They had their own set of logic in their minds.
The more polite you were to them, the less they took you seriously.
Just like the Giant Race elder just now, he always held onto a glimmer of hope, fantasizing that he could drive Black and his group away with words.
Are you kidding?
The sanctuary had finally managed to pass through the Rainbow Suction Sea and reached the Giant God Ridge (Main Island of Degalt).
Are we supposed to turn back just because of your 'unwelcome'?
What about the World Government's dignity?
What was even more ridiculous was that Herman's attitude was very firm and principled.
His firmness wasn't feigned, yet he didn't dare to truly go to war with Black and the others.
Even on the surface, Degalt's Giant Race's combat power was clearly superior to that of the sanctuary.
So what's the point of being so firm in your heart?
I'm on the island, what can you do to me?
So, as the afterglow of the setting sun stretched out their shadows, Black had already appeared at Degalt's dock.
He sat on a Slave with Giant blood, looking at the Giants in front of him who dared not speak their anger.
He smirked and waved his hand, as if shooing away flies:
"Prepare some iced Giant mead for me."
"I'll leave when I'm satisfied."
"If you can't satisfy me..."
He glanced around at the surrounding Giants:
"Then perhaps I'll have to bother you for a few more days."
Herman's emotions had calmed down, and he responded:
"Alright, I hope you can keep your promise."
Black ignored him and, leading the Slave, began to stroll around the vicinity.
The houses in Degalt were generally over thirty meters tall, and even the wine barrels casually placed at the entrance were the size of normal houses.
In the distance, buildings hundreds of meters high could still be seen; that should be the council hall of the Giant elders.
Seeing this scene, Black truly understood what was said in "Gulliver's Travels": "more like a deep valley than a road."
When humans face giant creations far exceeding their own size, they always experience a sense of awe.
Black quickly recovered.
Because this was a world with extraordinary power.
Let alone these buildings, even the entire Giant God Ridge (Main Island of Degalt), Black wouldn't need many attacks to tear it all down.
Black did not stray too far from the port; when he returned to the dock, the Slaves had already set up a temporary camp.
Mandy was training with Koala, Stella was busy preparing food, Robin was reading a book, Perona was causing trouble, and Rami was watching it all with a smile.
By the time Stella had prepared the food, Herman had also delivered the Giant mead Black had requested.
Black first opened it and took a look; a rich aroma of wine immediately wafted out.
He looked at Herman with a half-smile:
"You didn't spit in it, did you?"
Herman was startled, then his expression turned unpleasant:
"The Giant Race would never do such a despicable act!"
"You are insulting the Giant Race!"
But in his heart, he was thinking:
"Why didn't I think of that?"
Black smiled and waved his hand:
"Look at you, getting angry again."
"How about this, I'll leave tomorrow."
Before the joy on Herman's face could fully show, he heard Black continue:
"But I need to pass through the Summit of the Western Heaven."
"That's impossible!"
Herman suddenly stood up, his emotions agitated:
"The World Tree must not be desecrated!"
"Don't tell me no one has ever been up there."
Black sneered:
"If that's the case, then I'll just have to commandeer the entire World Tree."
"I believe Mary Geoise's landscaping is still quite lacking this year."
Herman clenched his fists, and after a long time, he left with a phrase, "I will arrange a passage."
"Almost forgot!"
Black's voice came from behind him:
"Remember to wipe the bark clean!"
"If my gloves get dirty, I'll chop down your rotten tree!"
Herman did not look back.
He was afraid that he would lose control of his emotions and attack a World Nobles, which would bring disaster to the entire Degalt.
After Herman left, Koala was a little worried:
"Your Highness, they won't cause any damage, will they?"
"Don't worry, they wouldn't dare."
Black rubbed Koala's golden hair and then poured a little Giant mead for everyone:
"Taste it, this stuff is rare even in the Holy Land."
Black disliked the Giants' demeanor the most.
Either you're completely cowardly, or completely firm, or you pretend to be cowardly first and then become firm.
Firm in words, cowardly in action.
Between losing face and losing dignity, they chose to lose both...
Time quickly came to the next day.
Under Herman's guidance, the sanctuary followed the canal and arrived at the World Tree Yggdrasil.
Herman pointed to the tree hole ahead:
"From here, you can reach the path to the Sky Island."
Black no longer cared about the other party's attitude; his attention was entirely focused on this World Tree.
In terms of appearance, it bore some resemblance to Ohara's tree of knowledge and Elbaf's World Tree.
The tree of knowledge began to grow four thousand years ago, which means the tree in front of them was likely over four thousand years old.
Black did not speak to the Giant Race again; the sanctuary slowly sailed into the tree hole.
Upon entering the World Tree's interior, resin began to envelop the ship like a sightseeing capsule.
Under the action of the water flow, the sanctuary ascended slowly as if riding an elevator.
Perona pressed her entire body against the sightseeing capsule:
"Wow! The clouds have turned into strawberry milk!"
They really had changed.
The originally cotton-like clouds now glowed with a pinkish-white luster, and a few palm-sized Sky Fish suddenly bumped into the sightseeing capsule.
Their scales were translucent, and each flick of their tails sent out a string of rainbow light spots.
Koala lifted Rami to the window, and the latter's slightly pale cheeks were tinged with a hint of color:
"Rami, look! It's so beautiful!"
Continuing to ascend, after passing through the cloud stream, the sightseeing capsule embedded itself into a narrow passage inside the tree trunk.
The resin walls on both sides were covered with colorful murals.
Using unknown pigments, thousands of years seemed to have left no trace on the murals.
Black glanced at them a few times and lost interest.
The murals here were far inferior to those of Elbaf; there was little useful information, with only a giant straw hat being a highlight.
Black had always found it hard to understand why they couldn't just engrave text like the poneglyph if they wanted to record something.
They had to make it all mysterious.
Since the murals could last for a long time without fading, what difference would it make if they used text instead?
When the sun was high in the sky, the sightseeing capsule finally reached the treetop.
The entire platform was composed of crystallized island clouds, its surface covered with hexagonal honeycomb patterns, and each hole embedded with singing tone dials.
"Hmm, now it has a bit of a Sky Island feel to it."
Black surveyed the surroundings, then looked at the cloud path ahead:
"Is this the entrance to the Summit of the Western Heaven?"
