The next day, Luisa got ready for university. The weather was clear and beautiful.
She boarded the bus and stood near the window. At the next stop, she noticed David waiting there.
Luisa suddenly felt uneasy, remembering what had happened the last time they were on the bus together.
Luisa (thinking):
I should keep some distance from him. This isn't good… because I like Be—
She stopped herself.
What am I thinking? What am I doing?
The bus stopped and David stepped inside. His eyes quickly found Luisa.
But this time, he kept his distance.
Luisa looked out the window, pretending she hadn't noticed him.
David could sense something was different about her. Something felt off.
So he didn't say anything.
But Luisa suddenly felt that ignoring him would be rude.
She took a deep breath.
Luisa:
"Good morning, David."
David turned toward her with a small smile.
David:
"Oh, good morning, Luisa. How are you?"
Luisa:
"I'm good. How about you?"
David:
"I'm good."
He smiled gently.
Soon the bus reached the university. They got off and began walking toward campus together.
Luisa's eyes wandered around unconsciously, searching for someone.
Just then, a black car slowly drove into the campus.
David spoke casually.
David:
"The weather is nice today."
Luisa:
"Yeah."
David:
"How was your weekend?"
Luisa:
"It was good."
Just then, a familiar voice spoke behind them.
Ben:
"Can I join you guys?"
They both turned.
It was Ben.
Luisa and David:
"Yeah, sure."
Ben:
"Good morning, guys."
Luisa & David:
"Good morning."
Ben looked at Luisa.
Ben:
"Luisa, I'm sorry I didn't properly say goodbye yesterday."
David quietly noticed their conversation.
Luisa:
"Oh, no, it's okay."
Ben:
"Thanks for understanding."
David walked beside them silently, listening but saying nothing.
Soon they reached their classroom and the lecture began.
Break Time
During break, Luisa quietly walked toward the rooftop.
The weather was calm and beautiful.
She stood near the railing, remembering the first time she had met Ben there—the day she hurt her ankle and he helped her.
Just then, she heard a voice behind her.
Ben:
"I knew it was you."
Luisa turned around.
Luisa:
"Oh… hi."
Ben walked over and stood beside her.
Luisa felt her cheeks warm slightly.
Ben, however, seemed calm as always.
Ben:
"You shouldn't come up here after that accident."
Luisa:
"But I'm completely fine now. It was just a small injury."
Ben listened quietly.
Ben:
"If you say so."
They both looked up at the sky.
Dark clouds were slowly gathering.
Ben:
"It feels like it rains all the time in Himmer."
Luisa:
"Yes."
Ben:
"It seems like you like the rain."
Luisa:
"Yes."
She looked at the gray clouds forming above them.
Luisa:
"I noticed you don't like rain."
Ben gave a small shrug.
Ben:
"Hmm… no comment."
Luisa smiled softly.
Suddenly, they felt raindrops falling.
Luisa:
"Oh no, it's raining."
Ben:
"Yeah. Let's go."
They both hurried back toward the classroom together.
From the corridor, David saw them walking together.
A small, painful feeling formed in his chest.
After Class
Classes ended and students began leaving for home.
Luisa opened her umbrella and started walking.
Suddenly, a car stopped in front of her.
She looked up.
It was Ben's car.
Ben rolled down the window.
Ben:
"Want a lift?"
Luisa:
"No, it's okay."
Ben:
"Your house is close to mine. I can drop you."
Luisa:
"Thank you… but I'll take the bus."
Ben sighed lightly.
Ben:
"Alright. I won't force you."
Luisa smiled softly.
She walked toward the bus stop.
As she stepped into the bus, she looked around.
David wasn't there.
She turned slightly to check outside—but the bus had already started moving.
That Evening
After reaching home, Luisa freshened up and lay down on her bed.
She stared out the window, her thoughts drifting back to Ben.
Every small moment with him replayed in her mind.
Meanwhile
Ben unlocked the door to his apartment while talking on the phone.
Ben:
"Yeah, I just got home."
On the other side of the call was Charlotte.
Charlotte:
"How was your day?"
Ben:
"It was good… but I missed you. How was yours?"
Charlotte:
"It was nice. I missed you too."
Aves
In a beautiful apartment in Aves, Charlotte sat comfortably on her couch.
She was stunning, elegant, and confident.
Charlotte:
"So, how do you like Himmer?"
Ben:
"It's beautiful… but it's not like Aves."
He paused for a moment.
Ben:
"Any place where you're not with me… doesn't feel beautiful."
Charlotte smiled.
Charlotte:
"Aww… you're so sweet. I love you so much."
Ben:
"I love you too."
He leaned back on his couch.
Ben:
"So when are you coming to visit Himmer?"
Charlotte:
"Hmm… I haven't decided yet. What about you? When are you coming back?"
Ben sighed softly.
Ben:
"To be honest… it's a little difficult right now."
He sat quietly on the couch, still talking with Charlotte.
