The company building looked different during the day.
When Jay stepped out of the elevator onto the executive floor, the atmosphere felt heavier than before, as if the polished marble floors and glass walls carried silent expectations. Employees moved quickly between offices, speaking in low voices while holding tablets and stacks of documents. The entire place felt like a machine constantly in motion, every person playing their role inside a system that never truly stopped.
Jay walked forward calmly, though he could feel several curious glances following him.
It wasn't difficult to understand why.
An intern usually didn't come directly to the executive floor.
But here he was.
Adrian noticed him immediately.
Sitting behind his sleek desk outside Roman's office, Adrian looked up from the tablet in his hand with the same composed expression he always wore. His sharp eyes briefly scanned Jay from head to toe before returning to the screen.
