Jay stayed at his desk until the floor lights started clicking off one by one. The clock on his screen read 7:42 PM. Most of the analysts had already packed up and gone home, but he wanted to finish the last projection file before he left. His fingers moved steadily across the keyboard, the numbers lining up clean and sharp. Beside him, Asher had been quiet for the last hour, pretending to read through orientation notes while sneaking glances Jay's way. Jay felt the looks but didn't acknowledge them. He saved the file, closed the laptop, and stood without a word.
"See you tomorrow," Asher said as Jay grabbed his bag.
Jay gave a short nod. "Yeah."
