The hallway outside the treatment room felt too bright, too sterile, the fluorescent lights buzzing overhead like a warning that refused to fade. Roman stood frozen in place, his tall frame casting a long shadow across the tiled floor, eyes locked on Asher with an intensity that made the air feel heavy and charged. Asher's words still hung between them, sharp and deliberate, refusing to dissolve into the quiet.

"You moved pretty fast for an intern, Mr. Ashford. Almost like you've held him like that before."

Roman turned slowly, his dark eyes locking on Asher without blinking. His voice came low and cold, every syllable carrying the full weight of the man who owned the entire building and everything in it.

"My actions are not up for discussion, Mr. Luca."
