"I missed you so much," Jay said quietly.
Roman closed the bedroom door behind him but did not answer immediately. He loosened the tie around his neck, dropped his phone on the nightstand, then walked toward Jay slowly like he still needed to confirm he was really there and not another late-night call from Italy.
Jay sat on the edge of the bed watching him carefully.
Roman reached for him without a word and guided him toward the mirror stand near the window. The chair scraped softly against the floor as Roman pulled it out for him.
"Sit," Roman said.
Jay raised an eyebrow immediately. "Already giving me orders after abandoning me for three months."
Roman ignored that. "Sit down before you fall over."
"I'm not weak."
"You slept with your shoes on."
"That was jet lag."
"That was exhaustion."
Jay rolled his eyes but still sat down. Roman stood behind him for a moment, looking at him through the mirror.
The silence stretched.
