The alarm bells of the Azure-Cloud Mine rang out with a frantic, metallic rhythm, echoing through the jagged peaks of the mountain. In the central command post, a Life-Tablet had just exploded into dust—Overseer Scar-Face was not just dead; he had been erased.
"Prisoners in Sector 404! Rebellion!" the guards shouted, drawing their spirit-sabers.
Down in the dark, Xiao Chi stared at the purple fragment Shen Yuan had given her. Fear battled with a sudden, primal hunger. She swallowed it.
Instantly, her eyes turned a smoky violet. The exhaustion vanished, replaced by a cold, sharp power. She felt the "Void Seed" Shen Yuan had planted within her—she was no longer a slave; she was the first Shadow-Acolyte of the Upper Realm.
"Follow me," Shen Yuan commanded.
He walked toward the tunnel exit. From the shadows of the side-caverns, more guards appeared—ten of them, all Foundation-level cultivators.
"Halt, dog! Kneel or—"
Shen Yuan didn't let them finish. He moved like a blur of ink. He didn't use a weapon; his hands, now reinforced by the Dragon Marrow, were harder than any spirit-steel.
Crunch. Squelch. Crack.
In ten seconds, ten bodies lay on the floor. Shen Yuan didn't leave them there. He gestured, and the shadows from the walls rose up like liquid, dragging the corpses into the ground. Their Qi was funneled directly into the mountain's veins, feeding the ancient array he was awakening.
"Who else wants to be free?" Shen Yuan's voice echoed through the entire mine complex, amplified by the very stone.
Hundreds of slaves stopped their work, looking up with hollow, hopeful eyes.
"Free to serve a Master who actually has power," Shen Yuan continued. "Step into the light of the Void, or die in the darkness of the mines. The choice is yours."
The Surface – Main Entrance
Sect Master Zhao, a man in flowing blue robes with a Mid-Stage Core Formation aura, landed at the mine's entrance. He was accompanied by his two top disciples. He looked insulted that he had to leave his meditation for a "slave riot."
"Seal the entrances," Zhao commanded coldly. "Pump the [Toxic Jade Smoke] into the tunnels. If they won't dig, they can serve as fertilizer for the mountain."
"I'm afraid the mountain has a different appetite today, Zhao."
The heavy iron gates of the mine didn't just open—they were blown off their hinges by a pillar of black flame.
Shen Yuan walked out into the sunlight of the Upper Realm. Behind him stood a hundred slaves, their eyes glowing with violet light, their movements synchronized like a pack of wolves.
Sect Master Zhao squinted, trying to read Shen Yuan's cultivation. "Foundation Realm? A mere Foundation brat is leading this? You've got guts, boy. But do you have a soul that can withstand my [Azure Sky Palm]?"
Zhao raised his hand. The sky turned a brilliant, cutting blue as a massive palm made of condensed Qi descended toward Shen Yuan. It was a strike meant to flatten a hill.
Shen Yuan didn't look up. He simply drove his fist into the ground.
"[Third Gate: The Dragon's Tremor]"
The Dragon Marrow he had absorbed earlier resonated with the bedrock. The ground beneath the Azure-Cloud Sect members didn't just shake—it opened like a mouth. Spectral, silver dragon-claws erupted from the earth, grabbing the "Azure Sky Palm" and literally tearing the Qi apart.
"What?!" Zhao gasped, his face turning pale. "That's... that's ancient Draconic Arts! Who are you?!"
"I am the one who buried the dragons you're standing on," Shen Yuan said.
He vanished and reappeared directly in front of Zhao. The Sect Master tried to activate his defensive treasure, a jade shield, but Shen Yuan's fingers pierced the jade as if it were wet paper.
Shen Yuan's hand closed around Zhao's throat.
"Your Sect is small. Your Qi is thin. But your mountain..." Shen Yuan looked around at the floating peaks. "...your mountain has good bones. I think I'll keep it."
"[Soul-Script: Absolute Submission]"
Shen Yuan didn't kill Zhao. He forced his Void-will into the man's Dantian, wrapping his Golden Core in black chains.
The Sect Master fell to his knees, his eyes turning violet. "Master... forgive my... insolence."
The two top disciples, seeing their Master defeated in a single move, threw down their swords and knelt in terror.
Shen Yuan turned to the ragged army of slaves behind him. "The Azure-Cloud Sect is no more. From this day, this peak is the Stronghold of the Eternal Void. Xiao Chi!"
The girl stepped forward, her aura now at the Peak of the Qi Condensation stage. "Yes, Master?"
"Take the survivors. Purge the mountain of any who refuse to kneel. I have a war to plan, and I need a forge that can handle the heat."
Shen Yuan looked at the Jade Moons in the sky. He could feel the distant, powerful gazes of the Great Sects beginning to turn toward this minor mountain.
"The hunt is about to get interesting," he whispered.
