Chapter 19 - Chapter Nineteen

CHAPTER NINETEEN

"For our brethren!" The Guang union extremists swore at the top of his lungs as they drove head first into the police station.

Those who couldn't react fast enough were ruthlessly mowed down by heavy vehicle. Officers unleashed gunfire upon the invading force but that was futile. Nearly two dozen sleeper agents emerged from the truck armed with automatic rapid fire artillery and the insane conviction of a junkie on their first high.

The poorly armed officers were gunned into oblivion, torn apart by the projectile rain of superheated iron beads before they could even understand what was happening. Civilians outside weren't spared, half the invading force directed their artillery at pedestrians throwing the entire city into chaos, making it much more harder for any back up to arrive in time.

The same tactic was employed as other sleeper cells launched their assault against other stations, public institutions and crucial seats of power within the city.

The Mayoral building which was holding a meeting during the time of the attack suddenly went up in flames as an explosion hit the building from above, scared citizens rushed out trying to escape only to meet a swift death by the sleepers waiting in ambush.

Hospitals, train stations and major bridges and roads were blown to kingdom come by the multitude of explosives planted across their supporting structure.

"For our home! For our people!! long live Guang Dominion!!!"

The extremists chanted as they went on their march of blooshed, some stood upon vehicles and waved the national flag.

But in their elation, they didn't notice that the city they were terriorizing had silently began to fight back.

Seemingly normal civilians suddenly abadoned safety and moved into the range of gunfire, as the guns of the attackers focused on them, they calmly brought out featureless masks and wore them.

These individuals suddenly became superhuman, they weaved through the horde of terrified people, using the cover to slip into the sleeper agents defenses and dispose of them.

Some were armed with guns, some unnaturally thin fine blades that cut entire bodies in half with a single wave, even terrorists that were out of range were cut down when their assailants made a slicing motion at them.

The terrorists that once dominated the night found themselves fighting for their lives as these supernatural hunters set their sights on them. The abilities of their foe became increasingly absurd with some being able to kill from a distance by just making a gun hand sign at them causing Guang Union's operatives to rupture like a paintball a wall. Then there were those immune to gunfire throwing themselves into the fray and tearing human limbs with their bare hands, vanishing and reappearing at sides and dishing out a quick and swift death like blood thirsty ghouls, then the monsters wearing animal masks watching silently as their featureless masked subordinates massacred the lot of them.

"How did the enemy acquire these devils!" A Guang operative cried out after watching all his comrades murdered during their attack on the Mayoral office.

"Oh no Dear, this won't do." A charming sweet female voice mocked him, a flowing veil manifested besides him and unfolded revealing a curvaceous supple female wearing an ultra-realistic deer mask that perfectly mimicked her mouth movements and facial expressions but to the agent at wit's end, it was undeniable proof that demons walked among them.

"I expected more of a struggle from these freedom fighters but the only thing I see is a sniffling child that finally realised there are those that don't play by the same rules as they do."

The sleeper gripped his gun tight and prepared for his final stand. The deer mask saw his pitiful attempt at bravery and ruined his ambition.

"I hate men made out of butter."

A Sharp pain appeared and spread throughout the operative's body, the arm gripping the barrel swelled, bubbled then began melting off in wet chunks.

"Ahhhhh!!!" He began screaming as the aberration spread further up his body soon his insides burst out of his stomach, his eyes turned vacant, his breathing stopped and his tongue bulged out. This was the end for him.

A featureless mask moved gracefully towards the deer mask, fell to her knees as she reported.

"All the uprisings in the city have been quelled, Local authorities had begun rescues and repairs."

The Deer mask beamed, "Brilliant, I can use this achievement to acquire more favours from the order. Have the plant been destroyed?"

The deer mask inquired and the featureless responded regretfully, "We haven't received any information from those tasked with that area."

The deer mask sighed and called a number, the other line connected immediately.

"Lady Aldire, What can I do for you?"

"You do realise that if that place isn't down in twenty minutes then all our efforts would have been for nothing. Weren't you the one who received this information from the future or are you now lying to the order, Beelzebub?" The deer mask now identified as Lady Aldire complained.

"I understand and I have already begun my own movement but first several innocents have to be moved out of the way and that task is what I entrusted to Mister Rothschild."

With the barrels pointed to their faces, the captive workers in the chemical vat said their last rites even those that formerly weren't believers in anything.

But salvation came with a loud bang, something landed on one of the Guang agents crushing him to death with the intense force it came down on him with.

"Enemy!" The one beside the deceased agent cried as he pointed his armament at the newly arrived enemy. But the figure didn't give him a chance to react, it gave him a kick on his femur, snapping the delicate structure enough for it to peek out of his skin.

"Ahhh!!" The pain was agonizing, so was what came next. The figure moved through the dark floor lit only by a few emergency lights scattered in the corners like a phantom, he grabbed the face of the gunman and smashed it on the ground with a light throw. Then picked up his body and tossed it to the two operatives in corner, momentarily disstabilizing them. He focused on one standing alone, came to him and blew a hole through his skull with a single blow before turning back to the other two trying to regain their balance. He launched one in the air, snapped the neck of the other and when the other hit the ground, the figure ended their misery by crushing his skull with his foot.

Other operatives within the vicinity opened fire on the figure but the bullets didn't even leave a mark, suddenly the figure floated towards them and landed, the same unnaturally thin blade appeared at his wrists and the massacre was quick. Every step was precise and controlled, perfectly done like a complicated dance. His movements reflected both murderous cruelty and cold execution. Soon twenty three Guang operatives lay dead in just a minute. The figure stabbed his knife into the tall vat and sliced an opening for the captives.

"Get out now, this place is going to explode!"

A young voice entreated them, hundreds of scared workers ran through the blood stained hallways, out into the open area where countless Guang agents sat there unmoving then finally out of the facility completely.

Finally at a safe distance, the former captives looked at their saviour and saw a suspiciously tall figure with a deep muscular grain on his pitch black armoured body as black as midnight hiding his face with an eagle mask that looked real enough to pass as the real thing. They didn't even know if what they saw was even a person since he easily dispatched their captors evident by the gore still clinging to his suit.

"Go further out." The eagle man said to them before launching upwards and accelerating away.

The ground beneath them began shaking, light objects suddenly rose into the air as a black sphere began forming above the the facility.

"Run!" They moved further away as they possible could till the plant was a blur in the distance.

They watched as the black sphere pulled in the whole building with increasing strength, compressing it into superheated plasma before ejecting it into space.

This process made the event seem like they were watching a black orb in the sky with a glowing ring of light around it soon the entire building was gone and the Guang union sleeper cell in Valkyren was put to an end.

The next day, national investigations arrived to find the plant missing save hundreds of people standing in front of the crater that remained completely dazed, they confessed fully to being Guang Union sleeper agents relaying any crucial information asked of them with reckless abandon but when asked who had put an end to their scheme, they simply answered.

"It was God. I saw it."

Guang union was overtaken by the democratic front aiding Huaxia when their chubby leader surrendered claiming that God had told him to do so.
