Dominic's POV
Dominic had been standing in his father's office for three minutes and nobody had asked him to sit.
That was new. That was bad.
Vincent was reviewing quarterly reports. Not the ones Dominic had prepared. The ones Grace had analyzed. The ones where she'd identified two million dollars in theft that Dominic hadn't noticed. Two million dollars that made Dominic look incompetent in front of his own father.
"The Hartman situation is handled," Vincent said without looking up. "Grace recommended we move his assets through the usual channels. It's clean. It's efficient."
Dominic's hands curled into fists at his sides. "I could have handled it."
"Could have. Didn't." Vincent finally looked at him. "Grace caught something you missed. Something that cost us significant money. I need people who notice things."
The words hung in the air like poison.
Dominic left the office and his mind was already planning.
