Ouch.
"That hurts." A man who appeared to be in his early 20s, had short blond hair, and wore simple a dress shirt and pants said as he looked at the dagger that was now stuck on his forearm.
"So you can feel that now, huh?! Do ya?! Do you really?!" The woman that was at the opposite side of him and had long deep pink hair and purple eyes that were full of fury shouted as she summoned another dagger onto her hands.
"I suppose so." The man didn't say much and simply nodded as he calmly removed the dagger from his forearm and threw it down onto the floor, causing it to disappear.
Looking at the amount of stab marks and slashes all over his body, it was clear that the man hadn't just been stabbed once or twice now, but many times.
There was so much in fact, that there was more blood visible on him than his own skin.
But regardless of that, he still stood there as though he was perfectly fine.
Not panting, not scowling, and not even an ounce of exhaustion to be seen in his body or face at all.
"...Liar!" The woman hollered as she instantly teleported right in front of him again and went in for another attack, this time at the shoulder, which was another non-vital spot.
The man still didn't move a single inch from his position however, and took the hit as it was nothing.
"Are you done?" The man said to the woman, who didn't appear to move away or even let go of the dagger after her attack, and slowly moved his hand to take the dagger out of his shoulder.
However, when he touched the dagger this time, he noticed the skin of his palm reddening.
"If you try to take the dagger out of you again... I'll... I'll burn you to death! Do you hear me!?" The woman threatened with tears in her eyes as she increased the temperature of the dagger attached to him by concentrating her energy onto it.
Even so, the man still didn't withdraw his hand and gripped the dagger even tighter before yanking it out forcefully in one go.
A scorching sound could be heard, making it clear that he was being burnt as it was being taken out.
But still, he didn't react to the pain and dropped the dagger onto the floor again.
Seeing this, the woman finally dropped to her knees and began crying.
"Why... just why?" She whispered, sounding extremely powerless, "Why won't you come back to me at all?"
"You already know the answer to that. I'm weak, I'm powerless, I'm dumb, and I'm useless. Nowadays, I can't even protect myself from the most simplest of things without your guys' help, so I don't understand why everyone is still expecting something from me." The man looked down at the woman and frowned.
"That's not true at all! Everything that I've become, everything that I've learned, and everything that I have up until this point, all of it couldn't have ever been possible if it weren't for you."
"..."
"Not only that, but even despite everything else, just knowing that you had my back made everything so much easier for me! Want to know why!? It's because even when I'm at my worst, even when I'm more frustrated than ever, even when everything seems impossible, I could always look behind me and know for a fact that you would be there waiting to point me to the right direction if I fell! Because I knew that I had you by my side, I could do all these crazy, insane things!"
"..."
"So please... come back to my side again... I'm begging you... I'll do whatever it is you want." The woman desperately begged and held onto his legs as tight as possible while her face was still a mess.
Still, the man shook his head.
"I refuse."
"Why?" The woman asked once again, this time with her tears flowing even harder than before.
Seeing this, the man sighed and then looked up at the starry night sky for a moment.
It was pretty obvious why after all.
From his perspective at least.
"That's because..."
