"By the way, how did you know I was here to begin with?" Eric was genuinely curious about this since there was no way that she could've followed him while he was meeting up with Celeste today, and so he questioned.
"..." Aurora didn't say anything but tried to focus her vision of him with just the one eye that was still fully functionable.
Obviously she wasn't going to tell Eric how she knew, but she had received a text message from Aria this morning saying that she was going to meet someone at a bus stop and that she was going to be gone for a couple of days.
And immediately, she knew that it had something to do with Eric as he had approached Aria two days before and it was something that had never happened at all in the previous regression cycles.
And while she had spent all day trying to track down and locate where they had went when she came to the bus stop and didn't see them there anymore, she had placed a GPS tracker on Eric's lamborghini the day that she had entered and left his penthouse and was able to trace its current location back to the hospital in no time.
Thinking back about it now, she really should've at least tried and locate if he had more traps around him when she saw him sleeping peacefully on his bed on that day and determine whether she should kill him or not after doing so, but it was too late to regret it now.
"Nothing? Fair enough." Eric knew he wasn't getting an answer from her and simply accepted it.
Eric found it somewhat quite intriguing though.
Based on how he had bashed Aurora's head into his knee, it seems that he had managed to exert more physical strength than he knew that his body was capable of.
Additionally, despite clearly getting shot at multiple times and losing an exceptional amount of blood already, his body felt light.
Almost weightless in fact.
It felt as though he could fly through the air and destroy things with just one punch.
'Is this what they call an adrenaline rush?'
Even though he hadn't experienced one before in any of his lives, he didn't dwell on it too much longer as he needed to use it to his advantage.
So while Aurora seemed to still be disoriented from the strike earlier, Eric quickly lunged straight towards her at an incredibly fast speed.
Aurora quickly reloaded her gun and pointed it directly at Eric's head from where she was laying on the ground.
But before she could even fire a shot off at him however, he kicked the gun right off of her hands and then stomped one of her hands while she was still in shock.
Crack!
"Fuck!" Aurora cursed loudly as the sound of bones could be heard breaking when Eric stomped on it.
However, she didn't have any time to focus on the immense pain coursing through her as she saw Eric's foot then approach her at lightning speed towards her head.
So with sheer determination and her body's instincts taking over, Aurora swiftly rolled forward and quickly got back up on her feet.
BANG!
Aurora dodged his kick by a hair's length, and his foot cracked a portion of the wall behind her when he had made contact with it instead.
That was when Aurora counterattacked and kicked him where the scalpel was stuck in his body and lodged it further in.
Unexpectedly though, Eric was able to catch her foot just before she could push him away from it and held it tightly where the scalpel was, further pushing it deeper into his body as though it wasn't even there to begin with.
Then with all of the strength and force he could muster up, he rapidly punched and twisted her legs, each time her legs becoming more and more contorted out of shape while she tried her absolute hardest to punch him in various of different areas to get him to slow down until finally...
Snap!
Her leg was bent and completely broken, and she was finally let go and dropped onto the ground.
Aurora desperately wanted to cry and scream again after the pain she felt from her leg being twisted, but she noticed that Eric didn't come after her immediately afterwards, and was trying to stupidly get the scalpel out of his body.
So Aurora clenched her teeth as tightly as she could and slowly yet quietly dragged her body towards the gun that was mere distance away from her reach.
Right when Aurora had her fingertip right on the gun's handle however...
She saw her only non injured hand get pierced by the scalpel.
"AHH!" Aurora now screamed louder than she has ever done before in this life and wailed in agony for a couple of seconds as her already blurred vision grew worse by the second.
She was positive that this was where this regression cycle was ending for here.
Not at the hands of someone new and unexpected just like all the other times before.
But by someone who she has dealt with before in the past.
As she was thinking about what went wrong here and why Eric became the way he did in this life, she saw a shadow hover above her head, and she couldn't help but slightly lift her head up to take a look at it.
From there, she saw Eric looking down at her, his face only inches from hers, and she shivered uncontrollably at the sight of it all.
Because despite all of the injury he has now all over his body, taking a closer look at his face, it was clear that there wasn't even a single hint of anger, distress, or even fear within it.
It was simply just... empty.
"Why... are you... like this?" Aurora knew that she needed to quickly ask before she died so that she could plan accordingly for her next upcoming life.
But she could have never prepared herself for what she heard come out of his mouth next.
"...You just don't know me well enough, Aurora." Eric thought about it for a few seconds before speaking.
"..." Aurora wasn't sure how to respond to this and remained silent.
"Out of all of the people you have killed so far, and will also eventually kill in the future, there are a few that are justified in killing you."
"What the hell are you talking ab-"
"I am currently one of them."
"..."
"Do with that information as you will. Hate it, resent it, or even deny it, but never forget it. It will eventually help you out more than you will ever know it."
"..."
"And don't ask me about it in the future either. This will be the last time you'll ever see me like this, and I will return back to being stupid and dumb as always in the next lives."
"..."
"So good luck on your future regressions, Aurora... and goodbye once and for all."
And with his last and final words to Aurora and seeing that her eyes weren't focused on him anymore, Eric closed Aurora's eyes and then left her to continue onto her next life.
Unfortunately for him, he too knew that he wasn't going to make it much longer in this life since he could feel his body gradually becoming heavier and his vision becoming more blurry as well, unlike how it had been earlier.
As such, Eric went to the door and unlocked it, offering a faint smile as the others who had been in the operating room with him before rushed towards him with terror written across their faces.
Then after engraving this funny scene into his head as a final memory for him, Eric promptly closed his eyes for the very last time and collapsed onto the floor.
Leaving behind the only version of himself that ever truly existed.
"Farewell..."
"Shitty world."
