Chapter 102 - Chapter 102 ( Extra )

The style and pacing were already decided the moment I wrote the first chapter. That tone has remained the foundation ever since.

Some readers may already know me and might be wondering why my writing style feels so drastically different from before—almost like I've become a completely different author.

But the truth is, this is the kind of author I am.

I like to treat every book as a chance to experiment with a new idea.

For most of this novel, the story is told from Rei's perspective—though I also interweave first-person and third-person narration, shifting between them freely instead of rigidly sticking to traditional narrative viewpoints.

Of course, when the story calls for it, I occasionally include scenes from other characters' perspectives as well.

The reason for using this approach is very simple:

Because it suits this book.

Personally, I think this style is quite unique. I haven't really seen many others write this way.

Maybe someone has done it before. Maybe this method even has a specific name already.

But regardless, I never set out to imitate anyone's style.

This approach comes entirely from my own thinking.

This novel contains many Western fantasy elements, yet you won't find overly complicated Western-style names like "Lesica Eldeni."

I won't deliberately force a "translated" tone, nor will I intentionally mimic Western narrative patterns.

Because to me, storytelling shouldn't be about blindly following a particular formula or rule set.

There are far too many rules in web novels these days.

Whether the protagonist is saintly or ruthless…Whether the story abuses the protagonist…Whether the protagonist suppresses others…How fast or slow the pacing should be…

I've grown tired of worrying about all those labels.

What I want to write is my own thinking—a path carved from countless possibilities.

A world that belongs to me.

Everything in this book exists because I believe it suits this world, not because some trope or rulebook demands it.

There are no rigid categories here. No need to label it as this genre or that style, this "system" or that "school."

In the end, words alone don't matter much.

I believe the most important thing for an author is unwavering conviction.

If your belief in what you're writing isn't strong enough, then the story itself will become fragmented and hollow.

If I restrict myself within endless rules and frameworks, I'm afraid the story will stumble forward and eventually lose its soul.

So this book is my act of stubborn persistence.

All I'm doing is presenting the world as I see it.

A thousand people will have a thousand different opinions.

Just like a bowl of tofu pudding—it can't be both sweet and savory at the same time.

Even if it somehow could, people on both sides would probably dislike it, rather than everyone loving it.

I'm not a perfect author.

And I certainly can't satisfy everyone.

Trying to please every reader would be far too difficult.

After all, is there any novel in the world that everyone loves?

So I simply follow my own path.

As long as I can write this story without feeling ashamed of it myself, that's enough.

I'm not aiming to create some legendary masterpiece.

I only hope this will be remembered as an interesting story.

There's one thing I do know, though:

Reader preferences vary wildly, but one thing everyone agrees on—more updates are always better.

If the book has shortcomings, I'll make up for them with consistent updates.

In fact, I've already written a lot of this novel in advance.

But because of the new book release restrictions, I could only post chapters slowly day by day.

Technically, the book could have gone premium earlier.

But in the end, I delayed it until Chapter 101, with the total word count already exceeding 220,000 words.

I'm not rushing.

I'm not impatient.

I'm not demanding dazzling results from my very first book.

All I want is to begin this journey without regrets.

I will use my serious attitude toward writing to make up for any shortcomings I may have.

Every chapter I release is the result of long hours spent thinking carefully in front of my computer.

I never rush or cut corners.

Every update will only be posted when I have at least 30,000 words of saved drafts prepared in advance.

I never write recklessly on the same day or improvise entire chapters on the spot.

I've prepared this book for a long time.

I sincerely hope the world within this story will unfold with the excitement you're hoping for.
