Chapter 58 - Round 2.

Location: Inside Lafayette's body.

POV: The chaos dragon.

Lilith lunged at me.

She swung her fist down and I spun to the left. I countered with a right hook to the side of her head.

But she countered with her forearm.

I charged my fist with chaos to shatter her water shield but she countered with a blast of water that sent me flying.

I smashed against a tree.

It seems Lilith has gotten even stronger since the first time. Or maybe it's the fact that I'm in this boy's body, instead of my own.

Either way, I'll be the one to kill her this time!

I pushed myself out of the tree trunk and flooded the ground. Lilith jumped up, spun, and threw down a water ball.

I countered with a saw disk of water charged with chaos. It sliced through Lilith's water ball and almost through her.

But she rolled into a ball and dropped down where I was. Both her feet were jetted out to crush me.

Crunch!

I rolled right and fired another saw blade the moment she touched the ground.

She dodged and countered with a waterball. She didn't aim it at me though, she fired on the ground and shattered the dirt beneath my feet.

I tripped and she was on me instantly with a punch to the gut. I gagged, before I gripped her arm and pulled her with me.

We both fell into the hole she created.

With her on top of me.

She slammed down her other hand over my mouth. I opened wide and chomped down on her hand.

Lilith gritted her teeth and slammed into me with a headbutt. Our blood mangled and splattered as she leaned back for another.

My vision swan, but only for a second. I relaxed her and blasted the space between us.

BOOOM!

We were flung apart and rolled in the dirt.

Not even a second later, I was back on my feet, gasping for breath. I hunched forward as I wiped my blood on the back of my hand.

Lilith rose to her feet with bloodshot eyes. Her hand had already stitched itself back together.

Her fists were bound so tightly she slowed down her own healing. Each breath she took was heavy, weighted, filled with an underlying rage.

I grinned with bloodied teeth.

"Mad?"

She spread her legs and crouched low, like a spring coiled.

"GIVE. ME. MY. SOOOOOOON!"

FUOOOOM!!!!

She kicked off with a massive explosion of water and hurled herself towards me.

I raised my fist to meet hers.

They collided with an electric shockwave that ripped apart the surrounding trees. We exchanged blow after blow, each punch tore into flesh and shattered bone.

I flooded this vessel with an overwhelming amount of Ouro. And so did she. She fought like an animal.

This was different.

Far more difficult than when I fought her as a dragon. Was it because of my size? Did I not realize her individual strength?

I chuckled.

This was magnificent, but I'm not going to win like this. My body is too weak to overcome the difference in physical capability.

I need distance.

I broke from the brawl and sprinted away.

Lilith chased after me like a shadow. I looked over my shoulder with gritted teeth. She's fast, but I have to be faster!

I leapt into the air and spun around to fire another saw blade. It slammed into the ground. Directly in front of Lilith.

Lilith jumped to dodge. Then in mid-air, she raised her palm to summon a water dragon.

She climbed onto its back. The beast opened its maw and charged a beam of water. I launched myself in the air before she even fired.

VROOOOOOOM!

She brutalized the earth where I stood only moments ago. While she was distracted with that, I raised both my hands. In each one, a saw blade charged with chaos and threw them down.

Lilith looked up and jumped from her water beast. The saw blades sliced through the construct.

The resulting explosion had the force of a bomb.

BOOOOM!

I landed with a flip. My hand dragged across the earth. When I looked up, Lilith was sprinting towards me like a human bullet.

She's not even phased!

This is cutting it close. I only had six minutes in this vessel. Five just passed and I'm no closer to my goal!

She slammed her fist into my forearm and once again we were brawling. I gritted my teeth.

If this fight continues, my being, my very essence will have leaked out of the boy's core.

My plans of making this vessel my own will be fruitless. If anything, he will have benefited the most from this.

He'd have my power, my instincts, but not my voice.

And yet…

I'm not mad about that.

As I exchange these blows with Lilith I've never felt more alive.

My whole life I was the strongest. No one, dragon or mortal could challenge me.

Until this woman and her dragoons cornered me during a moment of weakness. I felt as if they had cheated then, but now that I look back on it, that was the most fun I'd ever had.

To be the underdog.

So if this is my end, then let's meet it with my full potential!

I gripped Lilith's chest and fired a blast of water point-blank. She was sent flying.

With the brief moment of respite, I dragged every ounce of my being to the surface of my core.

Another six minutes at the cost of my existence.

A damn good trade.

"LILITH!" I pointed a finger at her with a wide grin. "PREPARE YOURSELF!"

Lilith stood to her feet, her eyes narrowed at my flared energy.

"You've gotten stronger," her blue eyes shifted as she stepped closer. "But I'm willing to die, are you?" Her eyes were now a deep blue with white pupils.

Bloodline eyes.

Finer control over water is dangerous.

This was going to be the clash of the century!

The air between us crackled with energy as we both prepared for the final clash. We both kicked off the ground and collided in the middle.

I summoned blades of water charged with chaos. She dodged my strikes with her own summoned water blades.

Mine would break hers after every clash, but she'd just summon them again.

And again.

And again…

I spun on my heel to try to catch her from behind. She dropped to a knee and went for my legs. My fist found its mark against her jaw before she got the chance.

The force wasn't enough to break through her water film. But that wasn't the goal, this was.

I fired a wave of water at point-blank range and created a lake on the spot.

DOOOOOM!

I jumped and landed a few feet back.

The water rippled on its surface before it was torn apart. Lilith rose from the explosion like a goddess reborn. She dished out a tsunami of her own with the wave of her hand.

I raised my hands and fired a tide of water to overcome hers. The two forces clashed with a devastating collision.

The forest that surrounded us was demolished. Lilith raised her hands and summoned hundreds of water balls.

Dozens on either side of her.

She arranged them in an elaborate array and threw her hands down. Each one came down like a heat seeker. I summoned a water whip in either hand and cut them down.

But this was only a distraction.

Lilith raised both her hands against and summoned two supermassive waterballs.

Each one was the size of a small home.

She smashed the two masses together and swung them down.

I pointed a finger at the mass and fired a saw blade of chaos at it. But the water mass dodged as it smashed into the earth next to me.

Impossible!

The impact sent me soaring. I tried to find balance but Lilith was on me like a moth to a flame. I crossed my arms to protect myself.

But she didn't bother with hitting me.

She waited until I almost hit the ground again and exploded it with water. I crashed into the dirt like a boulder.

She slammed into the ground beside me and dropped to her knees. Her hand gripped my throat and she yanked me towards her.

We locked eyes.

"Get. Out. Of. My. Son."

She squeezed my throat until I couldn't draw breath.

I forced a smirk. "Don't get cocky… You won, only because this vessel… was weak."

My eyes fluttered as my consciousness began to fade.

My body then went limp.
