Claire's POV
"Nothing, ma," I rushed out.
Her gaze was on me and mine was fixed on the doctor, willing him to keep his mouth shut.
Whatever happened to patient confidentiality?
Why would he just blurt out my business like that?
He must have caught the heat behind my stare because he straightened immediately, adjusting himself before pressing forward. "Ahem." He cleared his throat. "Yes. She came in for some stress related concerns. She's perfectly fine."
"Yes," I said firmly. "Like I told you. It's just stress."
I rushed to stand, ignoring my mother's pressing gaze boring into the side of my face. "How is my grandma?"
"I know you see me right here." She groaned, trying to push herself up, reaching to pull her hand free from mine.
"Grandma." My voice came out sharper than I intended. "Just rest. Stop moving around so much."
