Chapter 53 - Chapter 53: The Completely Bald Saitama

Yuto knew that having magical beings help with the renovation would speed things up, but he hadn't expected it to be this fast.

To ensure their midnight construction didn't wake the exhausted workers on Ichinosuke Street, Ainz cast a high-tier silencing spell over the building.

Once the ward was up, the Overlord simply raised a skeletal hand and erased the shared load-bearing wall.

No swinging sledgehammers, no debris, no lingering dust.

It just ceased to exist.

Before the ceiling could groan in protest, Yuuka flicked her wrist.

A thick, sturdy vine shot up from the floorboards, wrapping around the exposed beams to support the heavy roof.

Between the restaurant and the flower shop lay a narrow alleyway, the one Yuto usually used to wheel his bicycle out to the street.

Bright magic circles flared around Ainz's hand as he cast another spell.

A new exterior wall materialized, seamlessly fusing the two buildings together and swallowing the narrow path into the interior floor plan.

Since both structures were single-story buildings of the same height, stitching the ceilings together was a trivial matter for the undead mage.

Following Yuto's instructions, Rimuru bounced around the room, using his Predator skill to swallow up any unwanted trash, rotten flower displays, and broken shelving.

To finish the demolition phase, Ainz snapped his fingers casting a wide-area cleansing spell that left the floors sparkling clean.

Yuto stood back and surveyed the open space.

He planned to keep the kitchen exactly where it was, there was no need to expand his cooking area just yet.

The newly acquired square footage was meant to accommodate more customers during the busy hours.

He looked at the sturdy vines Yuuka had summoned, a sudden idea forming in his mind.

"Kazami-san, could you make a few tables for me?" Yuto asked politely. "Just ordinary square wooden tables would be fine."

Sitting at the counter, Reimu and Marisa stared at him in quiet horror.

In their eyes, asking the terrifying Flower Tyrant to act as a local carpenter was a suicidal request.

Yakumo Yukari, however, just hid her amused smile behind her folding fan, watching the scene unfold.

Yuuka gave a curt, indifferent nod.

As a yokai born of nature, shaping wood was as easy as breathing for her.

She extended her hand, her pale finger giving the air a light tap.

Four thick tree roots burst through the floorboards of the new dining room.

They twisted and wove together in mid-air, smoothing out to form four elegant, sturdy square tables.

She even guided the roots to sprout matching wooden chairs.

It was thorough, flawless craftsmanship.

Reimu and Marisa's jaws hit the counter

They were utterly dumbfounded by this domestic, helpful version of the fearsome yokai!

Next, Yuto asked Rimuru to tackle the paint job.

The original restaurant had warm yellow walls, while the old flower shop leaned towards a pale, fading green.

The styles needed to match.

Rimuru hopped over to the yellow wall.

His unique skill, Great Sage, quickly analyzed the pigment and chemical composition. The slime then dispersed his body, stretching into a massive, thin film that coated the green walls of the expansion.

When he peeled himself back a few seconds later, the walls were painted a flawless, matching warm yellow.

Yuto walked the perimeter, checking for any structural issues.

"Ainz, could you open a standard door in this front wall? I still need a way to push my bicycle out in the mornings."

Ainz nodded.

The solid wood rippled, forming a heavy side door.

It would remain locked during business hours, serving only as a private exit for Yuto.

For the final interior touches, Yuto turned his gaze back to Yuuka.

She didn't say a word, she merely tapped the air a few more times.

Suddenly, bright sunflowers bloomed in the corners of the room. Vibrant green ivy crept elegantly up the walls, and delicate flower buds opened along the ceiling beams.

Infused with her rich youki, these plants would never wither or attract pests; they would maintain their perfect, blooming state indefinitely.

The atmosphere of the restaurant transformed in an instant, becoming vibrant and full of life.

It was a warm, inviting environment that would naturally make anyone's appetite grow.

Yuto nodded, a wide smile breaking across his face.

The renovation was finished!

He glanced at the clock on the wall.

It had taken less than ten minutes.

The speed of magic was truly astonishing.

He estimated the restaurant's total area was now over a hundred square meters, making it feel vast and spacious.

The main counter still seated thirteen, and the four new tables could comfortably accommodate sixteen more guests.

His seating capacity had doubled.

However, looking at the distant tables, a new realization dawned on him.

'I'm going to need to hire a server.'

When he only had the counter, passing plates to his customers was easy.

But with tables spread across a large dining room, he would be far too busy cooking to run food back and forth.

Having his patrons serve themselves wasn't ideal hospitality.

He was going to need help on the floor.

Maybe even two people.

He set those stressful thoughts aside for the moment and turned to his magical construction crew.

"Thank you, everyone," Yuto said, bowing his head in earnest gratitude.

Without them, this project would have taken weeks of loud, expensive labor.

"It's nothing," Yuuka replied smoothly, returning to her seat.

Reimu and Marisa stared intently at her, as if trying to spot an imposter hiding in her skin.

Eventually, Yuuka frowned, shooting the two girls a severe warning glare.

They flinched, simultaneously averting their eyes, though they immediately started whispering frantically to each other.

"Such a thing is hardly a problem for me," Ainz said, taking his seat.

Rimuru bounced happily in agreement.

Before the expansion, having six people gathered around the counter felt cozy.

Now, the sprawling room felt a bit empty.

Whoosh—

Just as the dust settled, the front door slid open. Everyone turned their attention to the entrance.

Yuto gasped quietly.

It was Saitama.

But something was missing.

The last stubborn strands of hair he had been so desperately clinging to yesterday were gone.

He was bald.

Smooth, shiny, and bare.

"Kamisaka, one bowl of udon, please," Saitama ordered.

His voice was cheerful, but it carried a hollow exhausted weight.

Yuto felt a painful ache in his chest, but he forced a welcoming smile and nodded.

After ordering his usual cheap noodles, Saitama looked around, noticing the massive transformation of the room.

A flicker of surprise crossed his face, but it quickly faded back into his default, blank expression.

He walked toward the counter.

Ainz sat up straight, staring at him intently, desperate to bridge the gap between them.

Saitama stopped.

A trace of heavy, unspoken conflict flashed in his eyes.

He let out a quiet, defeated sigh and pulled out a stool next to Rimuru.

The blue slime now sat between them.

Once, Suzuki Satoru and Saitama had been inseparable best friends, always sitting shoulder-to-shoulder to share their struggles.

Now, an invisible, crushing wall stood between the Overlord and the hero!
