Tohru, now officially wearing her invisible employee badge, was exceptionally motivated.
The dragon girl grabbed a damp cloth and furiously wiped down the tables.
She scrubbed every corner, over and over again, moving with a terrifying superhuman speed until the polished wood practically sparked with static electricity.
Seeing her intense enthusiasm, Yuto didn't have the heart to stop her.
He was actually quite surprised.
He had assumed that a literal princess of a chaotic dragon faction wouldn't have the first clue about domestic chores.
Clearly, he was mistaken.
"By the way, Rimuru, here are the seeds I promised you," Yuto called out, pulling a large canvas sack from beneath the counter.
He hoisted it up and handed it to the slime.
The large bag was stuffed with dozens of smaller, individually labeled packets. Yuto had bought a little bit of everything available at the local agricultural supply store—fast-growing food crops, hearty vegetables, and even some decorative flowers.
"Thank you, Boss!" Rimuru cheered, absorbing the bag into his gelatinous body.
Rimuru didn't personally know the first thing about farming, but his unique skill, Great Sage, immediately went to work.
After a rapid internal analysis, the skill identified every single seed type, optimal planting depths, and required soil conditions.
Great Sage then cross-referenced the modern Earth seeds with the native flora of the Jura Forest.
The final conclusion was overwhelming: modern, genetically cultivated seeds were vastly superior in yield, disease resistance, and growth rate compared to the wild strains in the other world.
Hearing the results, the anxious tension Rimuru had been carrying finally evaporated.
He had theorized that Earth crops would be better, but having concrete proof was a massive relief.
With these seeds, his burgeoning monster nation could establish a stable massive food supply, accelerating their development exponentially.
"As for the industrial blueprints you asked about, I apologize. I couldn't find much that would be useful without an existing power grid," Yuto said apologetically.
"No, no! It's totally fine! Just having these high-yield seeds is already a massive help!" Rimuru reassured him cheerfully.
"Hmm. Using the advanced technology of one world to compensate for the infrastructural shortcomings of another... highly efficient," Ainz noted, rubbing his bony chin.
The red orbs in his eye sockets flared as the gears of a supreme overlord turned in his skull.
"What's wrong, Ainz? Do you need me to buy something for Nazarick, too?" Yuto asked with a smile.
"Actually, yes. I'm deeply curious to see how effective modern kinetic weapons would be against the magical shields and armor of my world," Ainz stated nonchalantly.
Yuto facepalmed, momentarily speechless.
"Ainz... do you want me to buy guns?"
"Yes. High-caliber, preferably."
"No! I am a chef, not an international arms dealer!" Yuto sighed in exasperation. "Don't even think about it."
Ainz's shoulders slumped, letting out a heavy, rattling sigh of genuine disappointment.
'Ainz, what exactly are you so disappointed about?!' Yuto cried internally.
He noticed that ever since Ainz had permanently become an undead, his casual thoughts were treading an incredibly dangerous, war-mongering line!
"Setting aside international arms smuggling," Yuto cleared his throat, changing the subject. "Ainz, Rimuru, can you two help me with an experiment?"
Yuto remembered the wild theory he had formed earlier that day regarding the restaurant's magical doors.
When he explained his hypothesis about bringing people into other worlds, he instantly captured their full attention.
"What kind of experiment?" Rimuru asked, his squishy body stretching upward so his non-existent eyes were level with Yuto's face.
Yuto laid out the parameters of his idea.
After hearing the mechanics, both the slime and the skeleton were practically vibrating with excitement.
Rimuru bounced up and down rapidly.
His nature carried a boundless, childlike curiosity.
The prospect of breaking the dimensional barrier and visiting a completely different world filled him with immense joy.
"If this theory holds true, I can bring Saitama directly to Nazarick! Excellent! Kamisaka, let us begin immediately!" Ainz boomed, his heavy robes rustling.
He had long wanted to invite his bald friend over to show off his domain and properly entertain him as a Supreme Being.
"Alright, let's do this!" Yuto untied his apron.
It was a late-night lull with no other customers around, it was the perfect time to test the boundaries of his bizarre establishment.
"Boss, what are you all doing?" Tohru asked, finally pausing her manic table-scrubbing.
Seeing her puzzled expression, Yuto quickly explained the dimensional travel theory.
There was no need to keep secrets from his new employee.
Hearing the explanation, Tohru's golden eyes lit up like fireworks.
If the experiment succeeded, that meant she could use the restaurant as a hub to go play in other entirely new dimensions!
The dragon girl was overjoyed.
"Go for it, Boss!" Tohru cheered, pumping her fist in the air.
Her thick green tail wagged furiously behind her, knocking a stray chair out of place.
"Right," Yuto smiled, though he knew enthusiasm alone wouldn't guarantee success.
Yuto, Ainz, and Rimuru gathered at the heavy wooden front door.
"For the first trial, we will attempt to enter Ainz's world. If that succeeds, we will return and attempt to enter Rimuru's. Are we ready?" Yuto asked seriously.
Both monsters nodded.
They began the trials. At first, the magic resisted. When Ainz opened the door, only he and Rimuru vanished, leaving Yuto standing awkwardly in the restaurant.
They tried again.
This time, only Yuto and Ainz crossed.
After numerous frustrating combinations, they finally cracked the logic.
With a flash of light, all three of them disappeared from the restaurant simultaneously.
Yuto and Rimuru stepped out of the door and found themselves standing in the grand corridors of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Their sudden appearance severely startled Demiurge, who happened to be walking past by.
Before the demon could even ask questions, Yuto pulled the door shut, returning them to the restaurant.
Next, they tried the second destination.
With another flash, the three of them materialized in the center of Rimuru's developing monster town in the Jura Forest.
The sudden materialization of a towering undead Overlord sent the local goblin population into a blind panic.
Yuto yanked the door shut again.
