Chapter 30 - Chapter 30 – The World That Heard the Roar

____________________

The ocean exploded behind them.

A colossal wave rose into the sky as the ruins of Nerathis collapsed completely beneath the abyss.

Ancient towers disappeared into darkness.

Entire sections of the sea distorted unnaturally.

And from the depths below—

The Devourer ascended.

Not fully.

Not yet.

But enough for the world to feel it.

The synchronized resonance carried the seven through the ocean at impossible speed as the fragments glowed around them like guiding stars.

No one needed commands anymore.

No one needed to speak.

They moved together instinctively.

Perfectly.

And somehow—

That terrified Izumi more than the Devourer itself.

Because even now—

He could still feel everyone.

Mira's heartbeat.

Lior's fear.

Dianara's thoughts racing endlessly.

Seraphina's calm restraint.

Ravian's constant vigilance.

Astra's crushing loneliness.

The synchronization hadn't fully faded.

"…Still connected…" Dianara whispered.

Her voice echoed strangely inside all their minds at once.

Astra immediately looked toward her.

"…Don't panic."

"…The aftereffects are temporary."

"Temporary?" Mira repeated sharply.

"…You sound very unsure about that."

Before Astra could answer—

The ocean behind them erupted again.

A gigantic hand of black-red energy burst upward from beneath the waves.

Reaching toward them.

"It's following us!" Lior shouted.

Ravian turned instantly.

"…Keep moving!"

Golden-red mana exploded around him as he struck backward, releasing compressed energy directly into the massive arm.

The attack slowed it—

But barely.

The Devourer continued rising.

Learning.

Adapting.

The Surface

Then—

Light.

The group burst out from the ocean into the open night sky.

For the first time in what felt like forever—

They could breathe normally again.

Moonlight covered the sea around them.

Storm clouds twisted violently overhead.

The entire ocean was unstable.

And in the distance—

Ships were burning.

Izumi's eyes widened.

"…What happened here?"

Astra looked around quietly.

"…The awakening shockwave."

Far across the water, enormous waves crashed into nearby coastlines while the sky itself flickered with black-red distortions.

The world had noticed.

Mira floated slightly above the water using shadow mana.

"…That thing caused all this just by waking up?"

"…Partially waking up," Ravian corrected grimly.

Silence followed.

Because that was worse.

Resonance Side Effects

The synchronization began fluctuating strangely.

Suddenly—

Izumi staggered.

A memory flashed through his mind.

Not his own.

Astra.

Standing alone in darkness for years.

Centuries maybe.

Watching the sealed gate endlessly.

Waiting.

Izumi grabbed his head slightly.

"…Tch—"

Astra noticed immediately.

"…The connection is bleeding memories."

Dianara's expression tightened.

"…That shouldn't happen this intensely…"

Mira suddenly froze too.

Another flash.

Seraphina silently crying alone inside a ruined chapel.

Mira blinked hard.

"…What the hell…"

Seraphina immediately looked away.

"…Ignore it."

"…Hard to ignore someone else's trauma appearing in my head."

The resonance wasn't stabilizing.

It was deepening.

A World in Panic

Far away—

On the shores of nearby kingdoms—

People watched the ocean in terror.

Massive waves crashed against ports.

The sea glowed faintly crimson beneath the moonlight.

And somewhere beneath those waters—

Something enormous moved.

In the capital of the human kingdom—

Church bells rang endlessly.

Inside the dragon territories—

Ancient beasts became restless.

And within the shadows of forgotten ruins—

The Architect smiled.

The Architect Moves

Deep beneath a ruined cathedral—

Several figures stood around a massive dark table.

Arman leaned back casually, arms crossed.

"…So it finally woke up."

Velkira's illusion flickered beside him.

"…Faster than predicted."

Another figure stepped from the darkness.

Tall.

Wrapped in black armor.

Lightning crackling faintly around him.

Raijin Amanojaku.

"…Then the time for observation is over."

The room darkened further.

And at the center—

A distorted figure sat silently upon a throne of shadow.

The Architect.

Even the leaders avoided looking directly at him.

"…The resonance holders survived," Velkira said calmly.

"…Including the Seventh."

Silence.

Then—

The Architect finally spoke.

"…Good."

His voice distorted unnaturally.

Almost inhuman.

"…Pressure creates evolution."

Raijin's eyes glowed faintly.

"…Shall we begin the purge?"

The Architect slowly raised one hand.

"…No."

Dark mana spread across the chamber.

Heavy.

Terrifying.

"…Let them grow further."

Arman smirked slightly.

"…You want stronger prey."

The Architect's distorted gaze turned toward the distant ocean.

"…I want complete resonance."

Final Scene

Back above the ocean—

The seven finally reached a shattered island near the edge of the destroyed sea.

Everyone landed heavily.

Exhausted.

The synchronization glow around them flickered weakly now.

But it still remained.

Izumi looked back toward the distant ocean horizon.

Even from here—

He could still see it.

A gigantic crimson glow beneath the sea.

Watching.

Waiting.

Astra stepped beside him quietly.

"…This was only the beginning."

The wind howled across the ruined shoreline.

And somewhere far away—

War had already started.

The island trembled beneath the waves.

Not violently.

Not yet.

But enough to remind them—

The Devourer was still there.

Watching from beneath the ocean.

Waiting.

The seven rested among the shattered ruins scattered across the small island while storm clouds twisted overhead.

No one spoke at first.

Everyone was exhausted.

Physically.

Mentally.

Emotionally.

And the resonance connection still hadn't fully disappeared.

Izumi sat near the edge of the broken shoreline, staring silently at the distant crimson glow beneath the sea.

The others could feel it through the resonance.

The pressure in his mind.

The responsibility.

The fear he refused to show openly.

"…You're thinking too loudly."

Mira's voice came from behind him.

Izumi glanced sideways.

"…That's not even possible."

"…It is now."

She sat beside him casually.

Though for once—

Her usual teasing tone was quieter.

The synchronization had changed things.

It was harder to hide from each other now.

Mira looked toward the ocean.

"…That thing's terrifying."

"…Yeah."

Silence followed briefly.

Then—

"…But we'll kill it eventually."

Izumi looked at her.

Mira smirked faintly.

"…Don't give me that look."

"…If the world's ending anyway, I'm choosing violence."

Despite everything—

Izumi laughed slightly.

A real laugh.

Short.

But genuine.

And through the resonance—

Everyone felt it.

The Weight of Connection

Nearby, Dianara continued studying the floating resonance fragments while Ravian stood beside her.

"…The synchronization isn't fading naturally," she whispered.

"…That shouldn't happen."

Ravian's expression remained serious.

"…Because the forced connection exceeded safe thresholds."

Dianara looked toward the others.

"…At this rate…"

"…their identities may begin overlapping permanently."

Astra approached quietly.

"…Not immediately."

Dianara crossed her arms.

"…You say that like it's still possible."

Astra stayed silent for a moment.

Then—

"…It happened before."

Ravian clenched his fist slightly.

"…The First Resonance."

Lior looked up nervously.

"…What exactly happened to them?"

No one answered immediately.

Because no one truly knew.

Astra finally spoke softly.

"…They won."

Silence.

"…But none of them remained afterward."

The wind across the island suddenly felt colder.

A New Resolve

Seraphina stood near the broken cliffs, watching the horizon quietly.

Izumi approached her after a while.

"…You okay?"

"…Yes."

She answered automatically.

Then paused.

"…No."

Izumi blinked slightly.

That honesty surprised him.

Seraphina looked toward the sea.

"…The resonance makes it difficult to remain distant."

"…You hate that?"

She thought for a moment.

Then—

"…I'm unused to it."

The resonance flickered softly between them.

A faint emotional pulse.

Izumi smiled slightly.

"…You'll get used to us eventually."

Seraphina looked at him silently.

Then—

Very faintly—

She smiled back.

The World Changes

Far beyond the island—

The consequences of Nerathis spread rapidly.

Kingdoms closed ports.

Armies mobilized.

Ancient organizations awakened.

Rumors spread across every continent.

"The ocean is cursed."

"A god awakened beneath the sea."

"The end has begun."

And within hidden places across the world—

Fragments started reacting.

More resonance holders would appear soon.

Whether they wanted to or not.

The Architect's Shadow

Deep within the Architect's domain—

The leaders gathered once more.

Arman leaned against a pillar casually.

"…So the kids survived."

Raijin scoffed.

"…Barely."

Velkira's illusion flickered softly.

"…No."

"…They evolved."

Silence filled the chamber briefly.

Then the Architect stood.

Slowly.

Darkness bent unnaturally around him.

"…The world has entered its final era."

Even the leaders remained silent.

The Architect looked toward the distant ocean.

Toward the resonance.

"…Prepare the remaining leaders."

Raijin smirked.

"…Finally."

"…And find the missing fragments."

The Architect continued.

"…Before the resonance holders do."

The war had officially begun.

Not hidden anymore.

Not secret.

Open.

Final Scene

Back on the ruined island—

The storm above finally calmed slightly.

Moonlight broke through the clouds.

The seven resonance holders stood together near the shoreline.

Connected.

Changed.

No longer strangers.

The floating fragments circled slowly above them like stars.

Izumi looked at everyone quietly.

Mira.

Dianara.

Lior.

Seraphina.

Ravian.

Astra.

Then toward the distant sea.

"…So this is our enemy."

Astra stepped beside him.

"…No."

Izumi glanced at her.

Her crimson eyes reflected the moonlight softly.

"…This is only the beginning of it."

Far beneath the ocean—

The Devourer opened its eyes once more.

And somewhere deep within the darkness—

Something else awakened too.

Something even the Architect feared.
