(LIAM'S POV)
"Demons," I repeated, the word feeling foreign and impossible. "The demon realm. Mason was taken to the demon realm."
As soon as I asked that, Dylan instantly realized he had messed up.
"Yes..." Dylan replied skeptically, biting his lips and wincing.
My legs gave out.
I didn't even feel myself falling. One moment I was standing, the next I was on my knees, my hands pressed against the cold marble floor, my breath coming in short, sharp gasps.
"Liam!" Roland was beside me in an instant, his hands on my shoulders, trying to lift me up. "Liam, look at me. Breathe."
But I couldn't breathe.
Demons. The demon realm. My little brother, my innocent, gentle baby brother, had been kidnapped by demons and dragged into literal hell.
And I hadn't known.
I hadn't been there.
I hadn't protected him.
"Is he—" My voice cracked, broke, shattered. "Is Mason—is he—"
