(MASON'S POV)
The twin Sirens glided closer, their movements unnaturally graceful, like serpents circling wounded prey. Every step was slow, deliberate, and filled with quiet confidence.
The first Siren didn't move at all. She simply watched with detached amusement, as though she had paid for the best seat at a theater and was thoroughly enjoying the show.
Meanwhile one of the twins seemed annoyed by Blue's constant growling and she suddenly lashed out, her silver chain whipping across Blue's face with a vicious crack.
"Shut up, blood sucker!"
Blue roared back at her.
The sound tore through the warehouse, raw with fury and pain. I couldn't tell which one it was. Maybe both.
He lunged against the glowing chains binding him, every muscle straining as he fought to reach me. The restraints dug deeper into his skin, but he didn't care. He just kept fighting.
And watching him like this...
It shattered something inside me.
