(GILBERT'S POV)
The heat had finally begun to recede, leaving behind a bone-deep weariness that made my eyelids heavy. Jasper pulled out of me slowly, carefully, and I whimpered at the loss. His seed trickled out of me, warm and sticky, and I could feel the evidence of what we had done with every breath.
"Sleep," Jasper whispered, pulling a blanket over us. "I'll be here when you wake."
I tried to stay awake. I tried to ask him what this meant, what would happen tomorrow, whether he regretted it yet.
But my body had other plans.
I was asleep before I could say a single word.

I woke to pain.
Not the sharp, stabbing pain of injury, but a deep, bone-aching throb in my lower half. My ass felt like it had been split open—which, I supposed, it had. Every muscle protested as I shifted on the bed, and I let out a low groan.
"What in the gods' names happened last night?"
Then the memories hit me.
