The train finally came to a stop and we changed back into our casual clothes before stepping off the Hogwarts Express. The platform was alive with noise, students shouting goodbyes, trunks rolling across the ground, owls hooting impatiently in their cages.
I said goodbye to my friends one by one, handing them each a Text Board before they left.
"Don't break them," I said half-seriously as I passed Victor his.
Victor turned the board over in his hands like it was some rare artifact. "Break it? I'm guarding this with my life."
Elara laughed softly. "You'll probably fall asleep on it."
Kathey smirked, already sliding the pen out of its slot. "We'll test them tonight."
I explained the basic instructions again before they disappeared into the crowd. After that I picked up my trunk and walked toward Jack, who stood waiting calmly near the edge of the platform.
He bowed slightly when he saw me.
"Welcome back, young master."
He held out a finger for me to grab and with a soft snap we Apparated away, reappearing moments later back at the mansion. Even though strong barriers and wards surrounded the estate, a few trusted people were allowed to come and go through them.
Back home, I immediately fell back into routine. For the next week I practically lived in my study. I rewrote and reorganized all my journals again ,improving potion recipes, correcting rune diagrams, adjusting spell sequences. I practiced engraving runes until my hands felt numb and brewed potion after potion until the smells of herbs and steam clung permanently to the room, but my adaptations helped my body get tougher and better.
My goal was simple: raise my knowledge high enough that even the Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests (N.E.W.T. s) would feel easy when the time came. By the end of that week, my practice spree finally slowed down. The estate itself was thriving too. Forest visits and greenhouse management continued smoothly.
Even when I had been at school, I had sent detailed instructions to Jack and Jill through letters. The greenhouse near the lake and the house had expanded a lot. Rows of magical herbs now grew under controlled enchantments. Several new self-working tools handled harvesting and packaging automatically.
All Winger had to do was send owls with instructions and the tools would prepare the shipments.
Naturally, the business kept growing. Between the greenhouse production and careful investments, the vaults were getting heavier day by day.
Once things settled, I finally decided to properly test the Text Boards. Each board had a wooden fountain-style pen attached to it so you could write messages directly. In the top corner was a rectangular slot where you could write the number of the person you wanted to contact. There was also a button along the top.
Pressing it revealed a mirror panel, originally based on two-way mirrors but heavily modified into a multi-way mirror system that could connect several users at once, and since I wanted to connect it as a network , it has my specified rune, which would connect between all the devices that will be produced.
And as a bonus, voice talking too, but it wasn't for much long, but around 4 to 5 hours per day.
A small glowing dot beside the button acted as the signal. If someone sent a message, it blinked and produced a soft sound. If someone wanted to initiate a mirror call, the dot glowed white.
Press the button and the call connected.
Ignore it and it didn't.
Each board had its number engraved on the back. To activate the board, the user simply said "Revelio message." The board would record their voice and lock itself to that owner.
I decided to test it first with Snape.
I switched the slot to number five and wrote a short message.
'Testing device. Are you available, Professor?'
A few seconds later the dot blinked.
His reply appeared neatly across the board.
'Curious. What device?'
I smiled slightly and pressed the mirror button.
The panel opened and Snape's face appeared in the reflection. His sharp eyes immediately examined the mirror.
"What exactly is this, Peverell?" he asked quietly.
"A communication prototype."
He studied the mirror carefully, clearly impressed despite his usual calm expression.
"Remarkable," he said after a moment.
"When the device comes out, let me know and add a discount for I'll get some for Proffesor Dumbledore and Staff members"
"Ofcourse Proffesor"
After ending the call I switched the slots one by one, two, three, and four for contacting Kathey, Victor, and Elara.
Kathey answered first. "Oh this is brilliant," she said as her face appeared in the mirror. Embedded with those Purple eyes.
Victor leaned into the frame from somewhere behind her. "Wait, Elara can see us too?"
Soon the three of them were connecting with each other, laughing and experimenting with the multi-way mirror.
Later I received a message from Victor.
Confirmed. Works perfectly.
That evening when Arcturus returned home he greeted me warmly.
He hugged me briefly. "Everything alright?"
"Yes," I replied.
I told him about my year at Hogwarts, carefully leaving out certain secrets like the Time Turner and the Room of Requirement. Then I handed him a Text Board labeled number six.
He examined it curiously and tested it beside me.
Within minutes he looked genuinely impressed.
Through Anubis I sent another board to Winger, and a few hours later I received confirmation that his worked too.
With that done, I moved on to the next step.
I purchased a small house near Little Whinging. The cost barely touched my reserves. I also bought several forest areas for future projects. Afterward I sent owls to the three people I had chosen which are Mackie, Elizabeth, and Morlous and asking them to meet me at the Little Whinging house.
The meeting took place in mid-July. Winger accompanied me. I disguised my face with magic before entering the house. The three were already waiting inside.
Mackie Thornwood looked older but still strong, with a visible scar across his left cheek.
Elizabeth Cunnours sat upright beside him, her black hair neat and her green eyes sharp.
Morlous Tenorie leaned back slightly, his slicked hair and pale face giving him an almost vampire-like appearance.
He spoke first.
"Why this place for a meeting?"
Before I answered, Mackie gave a quiet chuckle.
"So nobody even knows we were here. The magical world tends to overlook places like this."
I nodded.
"Exactly."
I placed several journals on the table.
"I believe you've figured out why you're here. It's time for you to start earning properly."
I looked at them.
"The journals and notes you received anonymously… they were written by me."
The room fell silent. Then the questions began.
They asked everything—technical theories, magical processes, financial systems. I answered calmly.
With Mackie we discussed increasing muscle density with permanent reinforcement charms. With Elizabeth we explored magical banking loopholes. Morlous became convinced the moment I explained how potion ingredients could be produced more cheaply. Eventually they agreed to work with me.
We signed a magical contract ensuring secrecy and loyalty.
"Mackie," I said, sliding a document across the table, "you'll establish protection teams and an intelligence agency. We'll call it S.P.I.R.E. — Strategic Protection, Intelligence & Response Enforcement."
He nodded slowly.
"Morlous, you'll rebuild your herb and potion operations. You'll have Mooncalves for fertilizer, house-elves for maintenance, Bowtruckles for plant care, Nifflers for security, and Diricawls for transport."
His eyes widened slightly.
"That's… quite the setup."
Finally I looked at Elizabeth.
"You'll manage the entire business structure full time with Winger coming at times ."
At that point I removed my disguise.
Their surprise at my age was obvious, but after everything we had discussed, none of them questioned it.
"You'll handle the finances of the Peverell business Magitex," I continued.
I explained the production facility I had secured in a forest in Russia where my inventions, and Kathey's would be manufactured in large numbers. Her company, Lovely Innovations, would produce enchanted clothing and flying shoes alongside Magitex products. We had already formed contracts with the Expert Rune Makers and production workers during the Winter Break.
When Winger explained their salaries, Morlous blinked.
"900 Galleons a month… including food and lodging?"
"Why?" I asked. "Is it too little?"
Elizabeth shook her head quickly. "That's more than enough."
Mackie chuckled. "Consider us bound to you."
Before leaving I gave them their Text Boards , numbers eight, nine, and ten.The first ten boards had finally been distributed.
After we stepped outside, Winger remained hidden under a Disillusionment Charm while holding the portkey.
For a moment I pulled out a folded parchment from my coat and checked it again. It was a simple list of every property and operation I had found and noted over the past year. Greenhouses near the Britains wild reserved magical forests , forest herb farms under Morlous's future supervision which were around that too , the Russian production facility for Magitex and Lovely Innovations, the warehouse in Godric's Hollow that would soon become S.P.I.R.E.'s base, and the reserve forests I had purchased for expansion.
Some apartments too for lodging and fooding for members.
Seeing it all written down felt strange.Just a year ago none of this existed. I folded the parchment back into my coat and glanced down the street toward the small house where Harry lived.
Poor kid. He was still suffering there.Just a little permission from Albus Dumbledore… and I could bring him away from that place.
Moments later the portkey activated with a soft pop in a nearby alley. Back in the wizarding world, I returned home.
Later that evening I flew above the forest on Blackwing, the wind rushing past as the forest spread out below. And for the first time in a while, I allowed myself to think quietly.
If everything worked the way I planned… this was only the beginning.
