Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 I Don’t Want to Act Anymore

Outside the FEAST Homeless Shelter, Martin Lee, dressed in a suit, looked somewhat constrained at Levi, who was currently being interviewed.

They were both Chinese, but at this moment, Martin Lee felt no sense of belonging.

When he saw Levi, he had a bad feeling.

Because the Demon Gang had just previously robbed Levi's research materials, could it be that he had found out?

This made Martin Lee a little panicked inside, and his expression was off.

The new female employee next to him saw how nervous he was and immediately said, "Martin, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Mei."

Martin Lee took a deep breath, thankful that Levi hadn't come over yet.

Looking at the eloquent Levi, Martin Lee only felt that people had different fates.

They were both Chinese, so why was Levi doing so well?

At this moment, Levi pressed his hand down: "Alright, let's stop talking about Tony Stark, that lazy man."

"As for why he's lazy, whenever I video call him, he's always sleeping!"

"Wow!"

The reporters immediately became excited: "Li, why do you video call him?"

"Stop, stop, stop, now we should be talking about the shelter."

Levi directly refused to answer, instead letting the internet ferment.

You can just guess!

The reporters had no choice but to ask: "Mr. Li Wei, why did you acquire this shelter?"

"Because I am a person dedicated to philanthropy..."

Levi immediately began to build his persona.

This was all learned from the internet before, and now it was being applied flexibly.

Entrepreneurs across the ocean all liked to build various personas for themselves.

Such as not caring about money, being unable to distinguish between beauty and ugliness, and being the one who understands netizens the most.

What Levi was building for himself now was the'sincere and approachable tech mogul'.

Don't ask, just say it's learned.

"I have always been committed to helping people with disabilities, and now the homeless are the same; I hope to provide them with better conditions, so I acquired this place."

Hearing Levi's words, the reporters frantically pressed their shutters, and with the flashing lights of the cameras, Levi seemed to be guided into heaven by the light.

Greatness, no need to say more!

Whether the reporters believed him or not, he was doing it this way anyway.

Levi waved his hand, and the staff blocked the reporters, while Gwen Stacy lowered her head and quickly followed Levi inside.

She wasn't used to so many flashing lights; facing the camera made her incredibly nervous.

So, one thing she admired about Levi was that no matter how many reporters there were, he could always speak eloquently.

Of course, he would always start by mocking Tony Stark.

"You are Martin Lee, aren't you?"

Levi looked at the person in front of him, dressed in a suit, about thirty-something, very clean-cut, without any stubble.

"It's me, Mr. Li Wei."

Martin Lee forced a smile.

Although he was older than Levi, he had to be subservient in front of Levi.

In this society, money determines status.

Now that Future Industries had secured orders from S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Osborn Group, it was on a completely different level than before.

Levi looked at Martin Lee's face; he had a bandage on it.

"What happened to your face? Are you okay?"

"It's nothing, I just accidentally bumped it."

Martin Lee touched his face, thinking of that Spider-Woman last night, which annoyed him greatly.

"Hmm, be careful next time."

Levi nodded, then looked beside Martin Lee: "And this is?"

This was a woman in her thirties or forties, wearing a floral dress, with a charming and graceful demeanor.

"Mr. Li, my name is Mei Parker."

Mei shook hands with Levi, a warm smile on her face.

"Mei?"

Hearing the name, Levi was a bit surprised.

Mei Parker? Isn't this Peter Parker's Aunt Mei?

How... how beautiful!

"What's wrong, Mr. Li?"

Mei seemed a little nervous when she saw his expression.

"Nothing, it's a very nice name."

Levi said with a smile, releasing her hand.

There would be plenty of time!

"Let's go inside."

Levi and Martin Lee led the way into the homeless shelter.

Upon entering, they saw the entire hall filled with homeless people.

Some just laid a broken mattress on the floor and lay there motionless.

Others used a few broken cardboard boxes as padding...

There was only one TV hanging in the hall, and a group of homeless people gathered around to watch it.

The smell wasn't pleasant, but Levi didn't show it, instead appearing very calm.

This was intentional on Martin Lee's part.

For pampered capitalists, many people look down on even ordinary people, let alone the homeless.

Seeing this scene, they would definitely be dissatisfied and might even regret it.

But clearly, Levi didn't.

He often saw various disabled people at Future Industries and never felt any discomfort; instead, he wanted to help them.

What Levi was thinking now was the same: at least these poor people wouldn't inexplicably become someone else's 'blood bags'.

Martin Lee scrutinized Levi, only feeling that he was difficult to deal with.

"Mr. Li, let's go upstairs."

"Okay."

Levi nodded.

Arriving at the second-floor office, only a few people came in.

Levi looked at the office; it was very rustic and simple.

This was Martin Lee's office, but now Levi had kicked him out.

"Mr. Li, I don't know why you suddenly wanted to acquire this place?"

Martin Lee was still unwilling, carefully observing Levi.

Levi sat in the boss's chair and said righteously: "The reasons are what I just said; I want to help these poor people."

These words left a very good impression of him on Mei Parker, and her eyes seemed to light up.

She was a kind-hearted person.

Otherwise, she wouldn't be volunteering here.

Her previous impression of Levi was what was reported in the news: always bickering with Tony Stark, a 'bad-tempered' genius scientist.

But now she was wrong; Levi was also a kind person!

Only Martin Lee didn't believe any of this.

Because he was just using this to make money, he didn't believe Levi was genuinely a good person.

This was all nonsense!

At this moment, Levi caused trouble: "Martin, why are so many things missing from the office? I heard it was ransacked last night, and the robbers even ransacked the office, which is very strange."

Martin Lee immediately felt sweat on his forehead; he looked at Levi and said: "I also find it strange, there's nothing valuable here."

"So, Mr. Li, I hope you give up on this place; this is my hard work."

Hearing Martin Lee's words, Levi looked at him with a half-smile.

"Your hard work is important, but mine isn't?"

"I have already completed the acquisition; this is my enterprise, so I hope you disappear from my sight as soon as possible."

Levi said calmly, crossing his arms.

Martin Lee narrowed his eyes, looking at Levi.

He was certain that Levi was here for revenge.

Because this person was too arrogant; he wasn't even pretending!

"I hope you don't regret it."

He uttered a final threat; he had only lost financially, but he hadn't lost anything else!

"Get out!"

Levi said coldly.
