Chapter 39 - Chapter 39 Tony: I’m not a coward!

In front of the reporters, Levi uncharacteristically didn't mock Tony Stark, but instead respected his choice.

In the reporters' eyes, Levi was too magnanimous, making Tony Stark seem even more like a coward in comparison.

The most important thing was that mocking him at this point was meaningless.

Levi was also trying to build his own persona.

He couldn't be as petty as Tony Stark, could he?

When it was time to be magnanimous, he was, and people would like him more.

Finally getting rid of the reporters, Levi entered the company building under the protection of his security.

At a glance, he saw Gwen Stacy yawning.

"Gwen, didn't you rest well last night?"

Levi asked.

"Hmm."

Gwen covered her mouth, then replied, "Yesterday was quite busy."

It was indeed quite busy; Kingpin's subordinates were acting like madmen, causing trouble everywhere.

This led to Gwen being overwhelmed.

"You need to pay attention to your rest."

Levi led her directly to the laboratory.

There was a lot to do today as well.

First, they arrived at Dr. Otto's laboratory.

Dr. Otto, unable to sit still, was already arranging various surgeries.

Seeing Levi arrive, he excitedly said, "Li, one-third of the employees have already undergone surgery."

"Including you, right?"

Levi saw Dr. Otto; he was no longer wearing the non-invasive Brain-computer Interface helmet, but instead, unusually, a hat.

"Yes, I still have scars."

Dr. Otto nodded.

To undergo the surgery, he decisively shaved his head, leaving small scars for it.

That's how the Brain-computer Interface was installed.

But the effect was also very obvious; the four mechanical arms were as obedient as his own arms.

Moreover, he also installed a chip in himself, allowing him to access the internet at any time.

He originally wanted to install prosthetic eyes and such, but he gave up because he was afraid of the pain.

Levi knew his company's security capabilities would become stronger, but he also instructed, "Otto, don't mess around; installing too many prosthetics isn't a good thing."

"I know."

Dr. Otto quickly nodded.

He certainly knew the drawbacks, but this feeling was too wonderful.

It gave him a sense that the entire World was under his control.

...

"Mr. Stark, coming to the Middle East at this time, does that mean you don't want to fight in the Las Vegas arena anymore?"

"Mr. Stark, Mr. Levi said he respects your choice and doesn't blame you."

...

Tony Stark's expression was not good.

The anger he had just vented on the flight attendant immediately flared up again.

He pressed his hands together and said, "I have an urgent business matter, and it's very important!"

"As for whether the arena fight will still happen, that's uncertain. I don't think it's a good choice..."

He waved his hand, and a military vehicle immediately came over.

"Everyone, the military vehicle is here. I have business to discuss."

Tony Stark turned and got into the car.

The frantic reporters tried to block him, but the military vehicle eventually escaped.

"Damn it, these lunatics."

Sitting in the car, Tony Stark said helplessly, "They actually followed me all the way here, and even the local media are joining in on the fun?"

"Now the whole World is paying attention to this matter, and you chickened out."

Rhodes immediately said.

Tony Stark's face instantly flushed red: "I didn't chicken out; I just came out to discuss business!"

"When I go back, I'll definitely beat him down."

"Haha!"

Rhodes burst into laughter, and Tony Stark gave him two hard jabs.

"Let's rest for two days and experience the local customs. Then you'll be heading into the desert, and you won't see any beautiful women."

These words piqued Tony Stark's interest.

"I really haven't played around here before."

There were hardly any women along the way, like rare animals, and they were all wearing headscarves, wrapped up tightly.

This only made Tony Stark more interested.

...

Professor Connors's laboratory.

Besides himself, his wife Martha was also there, along with two S.H.I.E.L.D. volunteers.

These two didn't like prosthetics and wanted their own flesh and blood, so they were willing to participate in the experiment.

To this, Levi could only say that great minds think alike.

"Red Queen, no problem, right?"

Levi came over with Eve and 2B, and casually asked.

Red Queen's phantom appeared beside him and replied, "Boss, I have conducted over 700,000 simulation experiments; at most, there will be some mutation."

"What kind of mutation?"

Levi felt that this phrasing was somewhat familiar, then asked.

"The body might undergo alienation, but at the same time, it will gain strength and regenerative abilities."

Red Queen said.

Levi frowned, "Then doesn't that still mean turning into a Lizardman?"

"If Boss you mean completely turning into a lizard, that's impossible."

Red Queen replied, "The initial serum indeed had huge flaws, but it has now been improved by me and Professor Connors, and an antidote has also been prepared."

Hearing this, Levi stood outside the glass and didn't go in, nodding to Professor Connors inside.

Then, the one-armed Professor Connors and his wife Martha got busy.

They had the volunteer lie on the hospital bed, then tied his hands and feet.

Once the safety measures were complete, they prepared to inject the serum.

With Red Queen's operation, a syringe of green serum was slowly injected.

The missing part of this experimenter was his right leg, because someone threw a high-explosive grenade near his feet during a mission. He quickly fell to the side, but it also caused his leg to be blown off directly.

Fortunately, it wasn't a fragmentation grenade, otherwise he would have been gone then.

Everyone present was a little nervous.

As the drug was injected, the laboratory suddenly went silent, as if it had died.

"What's going on?"

"Protection mechanism."

Red Queen said calmly.

"Ah!"

Then, the experimenter roared and thrashed on the bed.

His leg was slowly growing out, but the color was a bit off.

"Why is it green?"

Levi asked.

"It has alienated."

Red Queen frowned; this serum was indeed very difficult to research.

The experimenter grew a lizard leg, which'snapped' and destroyed the metal that was holding him.

"Why is my leg like this?"

The experimenter was a bit confused, then startled.

Professor Connors quickly calmed him down and began to record the experimental data.

This surprised Levi, because compared to completely turning into a Lizardman, this serum was still very gentle; only the grown leg turned into a lizard leg, but the person did not lose his mind, but was very clear-headed.

"The lizard DNA is too dominant; it needs other serums and viruses to neutralize it."

Red Queen said beside Levi.

"Not a failure."

Levi nodded.

Compared to directly turning into a Lizardman, this was already a success.

He brought Eve and 2B with him precisely to avoid lacking combat power.

Now it seems there's no such worry.

Professor Connors injected the experimenter with the antidote, restoring him to his original state.

Levi, meanwhile, prepared to invite Gwen to dinner.

He didn't succeed last time, so there could be no accidents this time!
