"We'll go ahead then," Alexander said calmly as he linked his arm with mine.
But the moment we stepped out of the room, I gently removed my hand from his arm.
He glanced at me, clearly puzzled.
"The guests have started arriving," I explained quickly. "We don't want to give them the wrong impression, right?"
He studied me for a moment before nodding slightly and continuing to walk.
