"When I received the call ," Dr jake continued, opening his medical kit, "I brought medication suitable for pregnant women."
"Thank you, Doctor," I said softly.
He helped me sit up slightly and guided me as I took the medication. Afterward, he packed his things and looked at me seriously.
"Your pregnancy is still in its early stages. You must avoid stress and danger like this. For your safety—and the baby's—you need to inform your family soon."
I forced a small, tired smile. "I will… thank you."
"Get some rest," he said gently.
I lay back down, exhaustion taking over again. That was when I noticed I was no longer wearing my soaked dress.
Aunty Rose must have helped me change.
My thoughts drifted to Alexander… but he wasn't here.
Nana hadn't mentioned him either.
He probably wasn't back yet… and perhaps she didn't want to worry me.
With that thought, my eyes slowly closed, and I drifted back into sleep.
I was woken again by the soft sound of the door opening.
