Lilian's fingers tightened against the edge of the chair before she spoke, her voice trembling.
"…Can we leave now?"
The officer in charge glanced at me briefly, then turned back to her with a polite smile.
" I'm sorry, ma'am. But we just need to confirm one more thing."
His gaze shifted—
—to Kendra.
—and then to Lucas.
"Do you recognize anyone in this room?"
Lucas lifted his head slowly.
His eyes moved across the room—
First to me.
Then to Lilian.
Then—
They stopped on Kendra.
A beat of silence passed.
But before he could say a word—
A soft, broken sound cut through the air.
"No… take him away!"
All attention snapped back to Lilian.
Her shoulders trembled as she clutched her chest, her voice cracking.
"Please… take him away. I can't stand seeing him… every time I look at him, I remember… the darkness… the pain…"
Tears streamed down her face as she broke into sobs.
The officer immediately gestured to the guard.
"Take him out."
