Alexander's POV
I was inspecting a section of the farmland when my eyes landed on Alicia once again.
President Evan was standing beside her.
The two of them were looking through a file she held in her hands. Alicia was explaining something while Evan listened attentively, his expression softer than usual. It was a look I had come to realize he reserved only for her.
My jaw clenched instinctively.
He was standing too close.
Alicia seemed completely focused on her work and probably hadn't even noticed the lack of distance between them.
The intensity of my stare must have been too obvious because Evan suddenly looked up. Our gazes met briefly, and a flash of confusion crossed his face before he turned his attention back to Alicia.
"Are you alright, Chairman?" Karen asked from beside me.
I nodded after a moment.
Fortunately, she didn't press further.
I forced myself to look away and focus on the crops again, but it was useless. My eyes kept drifting back to Alicia.
