"Daniel, do you have any plan?" the other asked as he tried to steady his breathing.
Daniel looked at his friend with a furrowed, confused face.
"What do you mean plan?" he asked. "The only thing I can think of now, David, is to attack with all our strength and expect to win."
David sighed, then clasped his two axes together.
"Okay then, don't die on me."
Those words were the trigger.
They lunged. Together.
David struck first, aether flooding his entire body as he swung his left axe towards Levi's neck.
Levi caught the attack with the flat of his blade, then pushed back before David could attack with his other axe.
David somersaulted through space, finding his balance quickly.
Daniel had closed the gap between him and Levi.
His hammer swung down, a tremor passing through the space as it roared along it.
Levi caught it with his free hand.
Daniel pulled.
The hammer did not budge.
A mote of blue formed beside Levi.
