Chapter 27 - Chapter 27: Pokémon-Exclusive Enhancement

Kalos Region, Lumiose City.

This was the most prosperous city in Kalos, a place where technology stood at the very forefront of League development. Not long ago, a city renovation proposal had just been approved—Lumiose City would establish dedicated living zones exclusively for wild Pokémon.

Inside a high-rise building near the city center, a young woman dressed in a white formal gown opened a letter.

The contents of the letter were simple, yet they brought a genuine smile to her face, one that came straight from the heart.

"Gardevoir, Silas invited us to visit his farm. Do you want to go?"

Not far away, the elegant Gardevoir responded softly. One person and one Pokémon exchanged a knowing smile, instantly understanding each other's thoughts.

"Don't worry, I've already thought it through," the girl said with a sly grin. "Shalour City invited us to attend the Beach Festival. Isn't it perfectly normal for me to stay a few extra days?"

"Garde~"

"I know. I'll make sure everything here is handled in advance."

Carefully putting away the invitation letter, her gaze turned resolute. "That's the first film where we're the protagonists. I'll take it seriously."

At the same time, back at the ranch—

"Good morning, Chatot."

Yawning and squinting his eyes, Silas opened the window.

The cool morning breeze swept into the room, making Silas shiver involuntarily as he was instantly jolted awake.

"Cha-tot~"

Chatot pecked at his arm with its beak, urging him to hurry and set off.

If they went too late, the mushrooms growing in the forest would be picked clean by other Pokémon.

"Right away, right away!" Silas patted his head to soothe it—this had already been planned the day before.

On the eve of the Beach Festival, mushroom prices were at their highest point of the entire year. Earning even a little more now was worth it.

Once the weather grew hot, mushrooms would stop growing altogether.

By then, even if you wanted to make money, there would be no way to do so.

Chatot led him darting all over the back mountain, and from time to time they would encounter groups of wild Pokémon.

From far away, they would wave and greet Chatot, and some bird Pokémon would even present the food they had painstakingly gathered directly to it.

Even more outrageous were some of the female birds, who simply refused to leave Chatot's side at all.

Silas even witnessed the scene firsthand.

Chatot had landed on a tree branch to rest and hadn't even steadied itself yet when several Fletchling flew over, using their beaks to groom its feathers and rubbing up against it with their bodies.

And Chatot?

It wore an annoyed, cold expression, lifting its head and screeching loudly to drive the Fletchling away.

Not only did that fail, but the Fletchling's eyes sparkled with little stars.

"When did Chatot become this popular?" Silas muttered.

Soon enough, Silas guessed the reason.

The overnight change could only be the effect of Century Soup Flavor.

The final line of its description had been crystal clear: based on the Pokémon itself, it would gain a unique, exclusive enhancement.

From the looks of it, the enhancement Chatot received was probably related to charm.

Hmm~

That suited Chatot's flashy personality perfectly.

Then what kind of enhancements had the other Pokémon gained?

With the help of a whole flock of bird Pokémon, their baskets were filled in just over ten minutes, forcing them to return.

Silas took Chatot straight to Route 12.

Gario's side worked fast—something they had only discussed yesterday, and the collection box was already built.

The front of the box even had the ranch emblem printed on it, along with his contact information and name.

He greeted the Belmond couple through the fence. They were busy shearing wool from their Skiddo.

After an entire winter, the Skiddo's wool had grown long and thick—it was well past time to shear it.

After placing the goods into the collection box, Silas retraced his steps and returned to the ranch.

The bird Pokémon that had followed them all the way stopped at the ranch gate, afraid to come any closer. Kangaskhan stared them down with a predatory gaze, dangerous light flashing in its eyes.

The memory of being dominated by a giant monster surged back, and the birds scattered in all directions in helpless panic.

"Chatot, you're really popular. Any favorites?" Silas teased, watching the birds leave, turning back every few steps with reluctance.

"Cha~" They're all my wings.

Chatot lifted its head and let out a call, flapping its wings as it flew into the berry orchard. Early-morning bugs were the plumpest, after all.

On the way, it didn't forget to greet the Mudbray hard at work.

"Kangaskhan, did you grow taller?"

"Kang!"

Kangaskhan lowered its head to look at itself—seems so! Silas, you've become so tiny.

Silas was 182 centimeters tall, and before, he had only reached Kangaskhan's chest.

Now, standing together, Silas barely reached Kangaskhan's thigh. This wasn't just growing a little taller—this was a massive increase.

Unsurprisingly, Kangaskhan's growth was also an effect of Century Soup Flavor.

Compared to that, Silas was far more concerned about Kangaskhan's physical condition.

"Do you feel any discomfort, Kangaskhan?"

Kangaskhan shook its head, then nodded, before walking over to a massive boulder and throwing an ordinary punch at it.

BOOM!

The entire boulder shattered into pieces, fragments flying everywhere.

"Mega Punch? No, no, that's not it…"

Judging by Kangaskhan's expression, it hadn't used much strength at all—just a casual swing of the fist.

Yet the destructive power far surpassed even Mega Punch.

"Kang~"

Kangaskhan returned to Silas, looking aggrieved, explaining that its strength had suddenly become so great that it couldn't control it properly.

When it woke up that morning, the bed had collapsed.

"Uh…" A circle of black lines appeared on Silas's forehead. No wonder Kangaskhan hadn't rushed over to hug him—it was afraid of hurting him.

But why did the bed collapse again?!

Why did I say again?!

At this point, Silas could only comfort Kangaskhan. A collapsed bed was still a bed—you could still sleep on it.

What mattered now was teaching Kangaskhan to control its suddenly skyrocketing strength.

After thinking it over, Silas led Kangaskhan to the lakeside.

He had it punch toward the water, using the splashes to water the fields. Only when it could freely control the force would it be considered a success.

With Kangaskhan as a precedent, Silas couldn't help but worry about the changes in Mudbray and Minccino.

Minccino's changes weren't particularly big or small—it now emitted different scents depending on its mood.

Being soft and fragrant was already bad enough, but now there was even a creamy aroma mixed in. Who could possibly resist that?

Silas couldn't. He picked it up and took several deep sniffs.

A little cake like this was born to be eaten by its Trainer.

As for the Mudbray, their changes were even more astonishing—they seemed to have reached a trinity-like state.

Can you imagine three Mudbray charging at you together with High Horsepower?

TN: Lmao, same with the Gogoat trio in another novel.

It would be like three heavy trucks barreling forward side by side—terrifying just to look at.

There was also a triple chance of instant-kill fissures, triple the sandstorm coverage range.

And most importantly, the triple-stacked effect of the Rototiller, drastically accelerating crop growth.

Aside from Kangaskhan, none of the others' abilities had any side effects.

Poor Kangaskhan—for the sake of being able to hug Silas again, it squatted alone by the lake, continuously punching the water, bang bang sounds echoing nonstop.

Fortunately, aside from a few Magikarp that could be found anywhere, there were no other Pokémon in the lake.

Those Magikarp really suffered.

Just as Kangaskhan had thrown who knew how many punches, and the Magikarp were completely disoriented from the impact—

One Magikarp awakened, its body glowing with the light of evolution.

Smack—

A loud slap echoed across the entire ranch. The newly evolved Gyarados clutched the massive bump on its head, fleeing in panic and diving straight into the sea in a flash.

Terrifying, terrifying—an angry female was enough to scare a dragon to death.
