Although I don't come across as very brave when my hands tremble as I try to unbutton my dress.
"Let me." Garrett's voice is rough and low.
I drop my hands, letting him take over.
It's strange, though—his own hands seem to be shaking a little too. He unbuttons every button so slowly and carefully, as if I'm dynamite that might go off in his hands.
His breathing deepens as the dress reveals more and more of my body.
At last, he undoes it all the way and slides it off my shoulders.
