Morning sunlight filtered through the towering glass walls of Obsidian Crown Holdings, one of the most powerful multinational corporations in the country.
The building itself dominated the financial district skyline steel, glass, and sharp architectural lines that mirrored the personality of the man who owned it.
At the very top floor sat the executive boardroom.
Inside, the atmosphere was tense.
Around the long obsidian conference table sat the senior executives of the company financial directors, strategy advisors, legal consultants.
But no one spoke.
They were waiting.
The door opened.
He stepped inside.
The room instantly shifted.
It always did.
Azrael moved with quiet authority, tall and composed, his tailored charcoal suit fitting perfectly over his broad shoulders. The crisp white shirt beneath it highlighted the strong lines of my chest and torso, while the sleeves hugged the muscle of his forearms just enough to show controlled strength.
His sharp cheekbones caught the morning light as he walked toward the head of the table.
Dark eyes.
Cold focus.
Even the directors who had worked with him for years still straightened instinctively when he entered a room.
Azrael sat down slowly.
"Let's begin."
The Chief Strategy Officer cleared his throat slightly and activated the screen behind them.
A presentation appeared instantly.
A rival company logo filled the screen.
Vanguard Dominion Group.
The room grew slightly heavier.
Azrael's gaze remained steady.
"Explain."
The strategy officer nodded.
"Over the past three months, Vanguard Dominion has been aggressively attempting to enter markets that belong to Obsidian Crown Holdings."
Another slide appeared.
Numbers.
Growth projections.
Corporate acquisitions.
"They recently acquired two smaller logistics companies we were negotiating with."
Azrael leaned back slightly in his chair, fingers resting calmly against the armrest.
"Who authorized those negotiations without securing exclusivity?"
Silence.
The executives glanced at each other.
Finally the finance director spoke carefully.
"They moved faster than expected."
Azrael's expression did not change.
But the temperature in the room seemed to drop.
"That's not an explanation," he said quietly.
His voice was calm.
But every person at the table felt the pressure behind it.
The legal director stepped in quickly.
"Vanguard Dominion is being led by Adrian Kade now."
That name caught Azrael's attention.
He tilted his head slightly.
"Adrian Kade took control already?"
"Yes."
Another slide appeared showing the rival CEO.
Young.
Ambitious.
Ruthless.
"He's been restructuring their strategy aggressively."
Azrael studied the image for a moment.
Then he said calmly,
"So he's challenging us."
No one answered.
Because the answer was obvious.
Azrael tapped the table once with his finger.
"Good."
The executives looked slightly surprised.
Azrael's eyes sharpened slightly.
"I was getting bored."
The strategy officer hesitated.
"But sir, if Vanguard Dominion continues this expansion"
"They won't."
Azrael stood slowly.
His height alone was imposing, but the quiet confidence in his posture made it worse.
"They're trying to provoke a corporate war."
His gaze moved across the room.
"Then we'll give them one."
