Chapter 25 - Chapter 24: First person to not call her princess

[Lingshu Chin Na

Rare Skill

Kengan Ashura, You are a practitioner of Lingshu Chin Na, a special Chinese martial arts style based on striking the opponent's acupoints to deliver debilitating blows without the need for greater strength. Using knowledge of the human body, the user lands quick and precise finger jabs toward acupoints to weaken the target with each strike, making it incredibly effective and deadly when used properly. However, the further a target's biology deviates from human biology, the harder this martial art becomes to use without prior study.]

While using a silver ticket he obtained by mastering several human professions at the highest level, Yuuji arrived at school.

He was not surprised that he could earn tickets as a result of another ability. Once he gained the ability to fly and then received a ticket just for flying.

What did surprise him a little this time was the reward itself, not because it was good, but because he could actually already do something similar.

Not exactly the same, but close enough.

Using his knowledge of martial arts, combined with being an adept of the Kamasutra and a professional masseur, Yuuji knew several weak points and how to press them effectively, pushing the target into a state of extreme relaxation that made them fall asleep almost immediately.

In short, another useless skill for the list.

"At least it looks cool" Yuuji muttered as he entered the classroom.

He had contact with some classmates, and Zastin had not asked him to do anything during the past month, so he knew that nothing had happened while he was gone.

Something strange, considering he was in To Love Ru, but Yuuji did not think much about it.

After greeting the few classmates who had arrived early, Yuuji lazily dropped onto his desk and lowered his head while waiting for the teacher to arrive, which should take at least another ten minutes.

But only five minutes later, Yuuji was forced to straighten up because someone kept tapping his shoulder.

As soon as he raised his face, only a few centimeters away he found a pair of bright eyes staring directly at him without blinking.

"Good morning."

"Good morning!" Lala said, stepping back with a smile. "Yuuji, you are back! Did you finish your business matters?"

"More or less, I have some free time now."

"That's great. Did you use Mona?"

"Mona?" Yuuji tilted his head in confusion.

"Mona, the AI I created. That's her name," Lala explained. "Didn't she tell you, or...?" Lala narrowed her eyes suspiciously as she looked at him.

"Haha, sorry, I completely forgot," Yuuji said embarrassed.

[At least you will not be able to name her Chaos.]

Yuuji ignored the system's teasing and focused on Lala.

"I was too focused and completely disconnected from everything, sorry."

"I guess I'll forgive you this time. You better not have just decided not to use her."

"There is no way I would not use something that convenient. I hate putting in effort," Yuuji said as if Lala had suggested something absurd.

But Lala reacted with confusion to his words.

"You hate it? But... didn't you work nonstop for an entire month?"

"That... well, it has an explanation. It was not really me. It was more like playing a game."

"A game?"

"Yes. It's... it's hard to explain," Yuuji said. "Better tell me about school. Has anything happened?"

At the mention of that, Lala's expression changed immediately.

"Yuuji, I think chaos might be following you."

"What?" Yuuji reacted in confusion.

"Nothing. During the month you were gone, absolutely nothing happened, just normal classes every day," Lala said with disappointment.

"Nothing? Nothing at all? No alien invasions? Failed gadgets? Perverted accidents?"

"Nothing! Well... Rito still keeps falling like usual, but somehow I feel like he is unconsciously avoiding me when it happens. It's a strange feeling," Lala said.

"That's strange. Did you two fight?" Yuuji asked.

"No. Isn't it normal to try to avoid accidentally harassing someone?"

"That... well, yes. But it's strangely normal for Rito," Yuuji joked.

"Well, Mikan has been giving me a lot of lectures about human common sense lately for some reason, if that counts as something happening," Lala said with a suffering expression while remembering it. In the middle of her sentence she reacted as if she suddenly remembered something and changed the topic. "Now that I remember, a new student transferred here a month ago, a childhood friend of mine, but he was only here for one day and then he never came back."

'A friend?' Yuuji thought while trying to remember. 'A childhood friend of Lala? Was there someone like that?'

After thinking for a moment Yuuji managed to remember, but before he could say anything the classroom door slammed open, drawing everyone's attention.

"Yuuji Rito, I have returned!" shouted a white haired young man emitting an incredible wild aura, his muscles visible beneath his worn uniform.

"Me?" Yuuji pointed at himself in confusion.

"Actually he means me," a nearby male voice said.

Yuuji looked past Lala and saw Rito pointing at himself.

"Rito, you were here? When did you arrive?" Yuuji said as he recognized him.

"I live with Lala, you know? I arrived at the same time as her," Rito said somewhat annoyed.

"Right," Yuuji said. "In that case, hello, how have you been? And what is going on, by the way?"

Rito made a face, seeing how Yuuji had barely noticed him even though they had literally been talking about him, but he did not complain.

"His name is Ren and he is the friend Lala mentioned. He likes Lala and wants my position as her fiancé. He disappeared after the first day, so he probably does not know my name very well."

"I see," Yuuji said, understanding the situation that matched what he remembered about the character. "In that case, have fun."

Knowing it was just another fight involving Rito that would probably end before it truly started, Yuuji stopped paying attention.

"You're not interested? He wants to be Lala's fiancé," Rito asked, confusing Yuuji.

"Why would that matter to me?"

It was not that he did not care, but he felt that Rito's words carried other implications.

"Yuuji Rito, stop getting distracted!" Ren shouted angrily after being ignored.

"My name is Yuuki Rito," Rito said as he stood up. "He is Yuuji Rito."

He said while pointing at Yuuji.

"Whatever your name is, I have undergone a month of training to become a true man by following the example of the manliest man on Earth.

I came to challenge you like a real man for Lala's hand."

Yuuji simply watched the entertaining spectacle.

"Well, I did miss these kinds of crazy situations a little," he thought with a smile.

"Yuuji, do you think I should stop him?" Lala whispered in his ear.

"I don't think so. Ren is a good person, so he will not seriously hurt him. And Rito is usually very lucky, so he will probably win."

"You are right," Lala nodded.

BOOM!

While they were talking, Ren rushed toward Rito, who barely managed to dodge.

Even so, the punch split Rito's desk in half.

"Stop running and fight."

"No! First of all, duels are supposed to be accepted by both sides, you know? You just want to punch me for no reason!" Rito shouted while continuing to run and dodge attacks.

He had only stood up earlier because he thought Ren wanted to say something, he never expected him to suddenly start throwing punches.

"Are you sure?" Lala asked worriedly.

"...No," Yuuji decided to be honest.

'Wasn't Ren supposed to turn into a girl before the fight started? Why are they destroying the classroom?'

"Can you stop them?" Lala asked while grabbing his arm.

"...Alright." Yuuji could only nod and stand up from his comfortable seat.

"You two, stop!" he shouted.

"Who are you?" Ren asked, stopping immediately.

Rito, who was about to receive a punch, sighed in relief and gave Yuuji a grateful look.

"Isn't it obvious?" Yuuji said confidently. "I am the judge."

"The judge?"

"That's right. I am in charge of deciding who is qualified to marry Lala, and you... are disqualified," Yuuji declared while pointing at him.

"What? A judge? That doesn't exist. You cannot decide who is qualified for Lala," Ren immediately objected.

"I'm not qualified? Then who is?"

"Of course only Lala."

"Are you sure?" Yuuji asked while staring at him.

"Of course I am."

"Then... why do you think defeating Rito will make you her fiancé?" Yuuji asked.

Ren's expression immediately changed into confusion.

After hesitating for a moment he answered.

"Because... those are the rules of their engagement. If I defeat him, then I will become her fiancé."

"So you will simply become her fiancé by force, completely ignoring her feelings and opinion."

"No... I..."

Ren fell silent and stuttered, unsure how to respond.

Finally he lowered his head, walked in front of Lala, and knelt dramatically like a knight.

"Princess, I deeply apologize for my actions and for not considering your opinion.

But if you allow me to express my opinion, that Yuuki Rito is not worthy of you. He has only known you for a few days and he is weak. I can protect you and I have known you for years.

Allow me to challenge him."

The entire class, watching the drama, waited for Lala's response.

After what felt like hours to Ren, Lala finally spoke.

"I do not allow it."

"W what? Why? Princess..."

"You know? Rito never called me princess," Lala interrupted, confusing Ren with her words. "You have known me for a long time, Ren, and yet... you do not really know me. You do not see me as Lala, only as a princess you must serve.

Rito sees me and treats me like a normal person. And that is what I like about him" she said with a smile.
