Beyond the Walls

Arc 2 – The Shadow Conspiracy

---

They did not run.

They did not hide.

They simply walked.

Step by step—

Kashihero moved forward, Arin at his side, Lucas slightly behind, his presence relaxed but alert.

The gates of the capital stood ahead.

Massive.

Ancient.

A symbol of authority and protection.

And yet—

As they approached…

No one stopped them.

---

The Gate

The guards stationed at the entrance stood still.

Too still.

Their hands rested on their weapons.

Their eyes followed every movement.

But no command was given.

No order to halt.

No attempt to interfere.

Because the order had already been given.

Let them pass.

Arin noticed it.

"…They're not stopping us."

Lucas chuckled quietly.

"They know better."

Kashihero didn't react.

His eyes remained forward.

Focused.

The heavy gates loomed closer.

Each step echoed softly against the stone path.

And then—

They crossed.

From inside the capital…

To outside.

The moment was simple.

Quiet.

But it marked something important.

They were no longer being watched from within.

They had returned to the outside world.

To the unknown.

---

The Silence After

Once the gates were behind them—

The atmosphere changed.

The pressure eased slightly.

The city noise faded.

Replaced by open air.

Wind.

Distance.

Freedom.

Arin exhaled slowly.

He hadn't realized how tense he had been.

Lucas stretched his arms.

"…Ah."

"That's better."

Kashihero stopped walking.

He turned slightly.

Looking back at the capital.

His gaze lingered for a moment.

Not with emotion.

Not with attachment.

But with calculation.

Lucas noticed.

"You thinking about something?"

Kashihero spoke quietly.

"They let us leave."

Lucas nodded.

"Yeah."

"Pretty generous."

Kashihero's eyes narrowed slightly.

"No."

Lucas tilted his head.

"…No?"

Kashihero turned away.

"It wasn't generosity."

"It was strategy."

Lucas smiled faintly.

"…Figured."

---

The Meaning Behind It

They continued walking.

The road stretched ahead.

Empty.

Quiet.

Kashihero's voice remained calm.

"They're observing."

Lucas nodded.

"Tracking."

"Analyzing."

"Waiting."

Arin listened silently.

Trying to understand.

"…Why?"

Kashihero glanced at him briefly.

"Because they don't know what we are."

Arin froze slightly.

Lucas added casually.

"And when people don't understand something…"

"…they don't attack it right away."

Arin lowered his gaze.

"…They wait."

Kashihero nodded.

"Yes."

The explanation was simple.

But the meaning—

Was not.

---

Arin's Thoughts

They walked for a while without speaking.

The road curved slightly.

The forest ahead slowly came into view.

Arin's grip tightened.

"…Teacher."

Kashihero didn't stop.

"…Speak."

Arin hesitated.

Then—

"…Why didn't you fight them?"

Lucas glanced at him.

"…You mean the guards?"

Arin nodded.

"Yes."

Kashihero answered calmly.

"They weren't enemies."

Arin frowned slightly.

"…But they were ready to fight."

Lucas laughed softly.

"Kid."

"Everyone's ready to fight."

"That doesn't mean they should."

Arin fell silent again.

But the question remained in his mind.

Because he had seen it.

The power.

The difference.

Kashihero could have ended everything.

But he didn't.

And Arin didn't fully understand why.

---

The Forest Again

They entered the forest.

The familiar environment returned.

Trees.

Shadows.

Stillness.

Lucas walked ahead slightly this time.

"…So."

"What now?"

Kashihero's answer was immediate.

"We stay here."

Lucas blinked.

"…Again?"

Kashihero nodded.

"Yes."

Lucas sighed.

"…You really like forests, huh?"

Kashihero ignored the comment.

Arin looked around.

"…We're not going back?"

Lucas answered this time.

"Not yet."

Arin frowned.

"…Why?"

Kashihero stopped.

He turned toward Arin.

"Because this is where we're strongest."

Arin froze slightly.

"…The forest?"

Kashihero shook his head.

"The unknown."

Lucas smiled.

"Translation?"

"We move better when no one understands us."

Arin slowly nodded.

He was starting to understand.

---

The Weight of the World

They reached a clearing.

Not the same one from before.

A different location.

More hidden.

More isolated.

Lucas sat down immediately.

"…Finally."

"Break time."

Kashihero remained standing.

Arin sat slowly.

His body still tired.

His mind still racing.

Kashihero looked at both of them.

Then—

His gaze shifted slightly.

Something changed.

Lucas noticed immediately.

"…What?"

Kashihero didn't answer right away.

Because he was focused inward.

---

The System

The blue screen appeared again.

Clear.

Sharp.

Unavoidable.

---

[System Notification]

External conflict resolved.

Stability restored.

---

Kashihero watched silently.

Then—

Another line appeared.

---

[Authority Update]

King of the God's Authority synchronization increased.

Current usage capacity: 25%

---

Lucas raised an eyebrow.

"…Again?"

Kashihero nodded slightly.

"Yes."

The system continued.

---

[New Passive Effect Unlocked]

"Presence Domination" – Partial activation

---

Kashihero's eyes narrowed slightly.

Lucas leaned closer.

"…What does that do?"

Kashihero answered calmly.

"It strengthens my influence over weaker entities."

Lucas smirked.

"…So basically…"

"You get even more intimidating."

Kashihero didn't deny it.

---

The Change

Arin felt it.

Even without understanding.

Something had changed.

The air around Kashihero felt heavier.

Not suffocating.

But overwhelming.

Like standing in front of something far greater than yourself.

Arin swallowed slightly.

"…Teacher…"

Kashihero looked at him.

"Yes?"

Arin hesitated.

Then spoke honestly.

"…You feel different."

Lucas laughed.

"Yeah."

"He's leveling up."

Kashihero ignored him.

But he understood.

The authority…

Was growing.

Slowly.

But steadily.

---

The Realization

Lucas leaned back.

Looking up at the sky through the trees.

"…You know."

"This is getting bigger than I expected."

Kashihero remained silent.

Lucas continued.

"First Hollow Sigil."

"Then the Demon King."

"Now Shadow Sovereigns."

He turned his head slightly.

"…What's next?"

Kashihero answered calmly.

"Everything."

Lucas blinked.

"…That's not reassuring."

Kashihero's gaze remained steady.

"Because it's not supposed to be."

---

Arin's Resolve

Arin looked down at his hands.

They were still trembling slightly.

But his eyes—

Were steady now.

"I want to get stronger."

Silence followed.

Lucas glanced at him.

"…You sure?"

Arin nodded.

"Yes."

Kashihero didn't respond immediately.

He studied Arin for a moment.

Then—

"…Why?"

Arin looked up.

His answer came without hesitation.

"…Because I don't want to stand behind anymore."

The forest fell silent again.

Because that answer—

Was real.

Lucas smiled slightly.

"…Not bad."

Kashihero turned away.

"…Then you will."

Arin froze.

"…What?"

Kashihero spoke calmly.

"I will train you."

Lucas blinked.

"…Oh?"

"Well, this should be interesting."

---

The Beginning of Change

The wind moved softly through the trees.

The tension of the capital was gone.

But something new had begun.

A different kind of battle.

Not against enemies.

But against limits.

Against weakness.

Against the self.

Kashihero stood at the center of it.

Unmoving.

Unshaken.

But changing.

Slowly.

Inevitably.

---

Far Away

Deep in the shadows—

Something moved.

Watching.

Waiting.

The pieces were shifting.

The players were changing.

And the game—

Had only just begun.
