Chapter 15 - Oh no, the captain's been killed

"damn it."

Before he could catch his breath, Hermes' attack followed closely behind.

In the nick of time, the chained man rolled to the ground, but he could only dodge once, not twice, as Hermes launched a new attack that stuck to him tightly.

puff! ! !

A bloody hole appeared in his shoulder; if he hadn't dodged quickly, his heart might have been pierced.

"You brat, you've gone too far."

"Despicable."

The chained man braved the raging storm, his wounds multiplying.

Hermes remained silent, focusing solely on his work and pushing himself to the limit.

"Spare me, I promise I won't cause you any trouble."

"I can give you all my treasures."

Under the relentless attacks, the chained man could no longer withstand them, and his initial curses and threats turned into begging for mercy.

This perfectly illustrates what it means for a true man to be stubborn and refuse to shed tears until he sees the coffin.

"Damn it, I'll drag you down with me even if I die."

The chained man went completely insane.

With a ferocious expression, it abandoned its defenses and ruthlessly tried to drag Hermes to the Western Paradise with it. Even a rabbit will bite when cornered, let alone a human.

Click.

Hermes' face turned pale as two of his ribs were broken by the chains, and the scabbed wound on his back began to tear open. His opponent was quite fierce when he fought desperately.

"How could I possibly die such a humiliating death? If it weren't for..."

With his heart pierced, the chained man coughed up blood and drooled as he stared at Hermes, collapsing to the ground in despair.

"Captain, what happened?"

"The enemy, where is the enemy?"

At that moment, the door was kicked open, and many pirate crews rushed in with weapons, but it was too late; their captain had already tried his best to hold on.

"It's that brat who killed Captain Joa."

"Hermes Jormungandr, the Pirate Hunter".

"captain."

"Oh no, the captain has been killed."

Looking at the messy room and the chained man and the ship's doctor lying in a pool of blood, many pirates were dumbfounded, and not one of them immediately fired a shot to seek revenge.

The surprise and the shock came too quickly.

"shot."

"Kill this brat."

Finally, someone realized what was happening.

They were the second and third in command of the Chain Pirates, and when they made their move, they had already planned out the carefree life they would lead after becoming the captain of the Chain Pirates.

shhhhhh!

Bullets flew everywhere, and Hermes shrank by five millimeters, repeatedly leaping around in the hail of bullets.

"what!!!"

A scream rang out from the crowd. Hermes shrank and quickly approached, then returned to his normal size, fired a finger gun, and shrank back away.

The pirates didn't even have time to react.

Pirates kept falling, but Hermes wasn't hurt at all. His ability to grow bigger and smaller was just too overpowered; often, the attack would come before the pirates even saw him.

"Damn it, what kind of ability is this?"

"How could something so small possibly hit it?"

Some pirates were considering retreating; their captain was already dead, and there was no need to lose their lives here.

"withdraw."

The second and third in command immediately ordered their trusted confidants to retreat, as they needed to preserve their strength to compete for the captain's position later.

Seeing the pirates retreat, Hermes did not pursue them.

They quickly disappeared into their base with their spoils.

soon.

News of the Chain Man's demise spread, and the name Hermes Jormungandr once again resounded throughout the town of Myoto, instilling fear in many pirate thugs.

If killing Captain Joa was due to luck, then how do you explain the death of the Chain Man?

"What? The Chain Store crew was also wiped out?"

At the Twin Wheel Pirates' camp, Captain Cocos wore a solemn expression.

First it was Josiah, then the Chained Man, and considering Hermes Jormungandr's profession, he's being targeted.

"Captain, we can confirm that the Chain Man has been killed. The Chain Pirates are now in chaos. Should we take this opportunity to recruit them?"

One of their subordinates suggested that the legacy left by the Dog Pirates had greatly strengthened their Twin Wheel Pirates. If they were to absorb the remnants of the Chain Pirates, they would be in control of the entire town of Myoto, and even within the entire Kingdom of Prodens, they would be among the top three.

"Captain, we may have been targeted by that pirate hunter."

Cocos's crew wasn't all hot-headed; there were some sensible ones too. Considering the deaths of Joa and the Chain Man, the only thing that pirate hunter would want was their captain's head.

This is very likely.

"Don't talk nonsense."

"We didn't provoke that guy."

"The Chain Pirates didn't provoke them, but now even their leader has been taken down."

"That guy is a pirate hunter who specializes in exchanging our heads for bounties."

"Hmph! The captain is not as weak as Joa and the chained man. If that brat dares to come, we don't even need to lift a finger. The captain can handle it all by himself."

With a pirate's inexplicable confidence, firmly believing that their captain was different, Cocos, who appeared calm on the surface, felt a sudden twitch in his heart.

He had fought against Qiao Ya and the Chain Man many times and knew how skilled they were. He could seriously injure them, but killing them was impossible; even if he could kill them, he would be crippled.

So that pirate hunter is no ordinary person.

His secret weapon, Cocos, is his caution.

Currently, his head is the most valuable thing in the entire town of Myoto. If that pirate hunter is short of money, he will definitely target him.

Grass.

I was just at home, and suddenly I was being targeted for no reason?

"Call back the brothers who are out there. Keep quiet for now and don't provoke that pirate hunter. Let's take down the remnants of the Chain Pirates first."

Cocos chose to keep a low profile; if that kid really set his sights on him, he wouldn't back down.

"Yes."

The pirates nodded, then assembled their crew to begin absorbing the remnants of the Chain Pirates.

Here.

Hermes, carrying his spoils, returned to the small clinic.

"Young man, what's going on...?"

The doctor, who was sitting in the clinic reading a magazine, was stunned when Hermes, covered in blood, pushed open the door and walked in.

He also remembered Hermes.

The memory is too vivid.

The other party had just come to him for treatment a week ago, and under normal circumstances, he should still have some difficulty moving around, but judging from the situation, it seems that they had another fight.

"Heal him!"

He casually tossed the blood-stained package on the ground and stripped down to his underwear.

Some old wounds have reopened, and some new wounds have skin and flesh turned outwards, especially the abnormal chest area, where it is obvious that many bones are broken.

My body had been tense before, so the pain wasn't too bad.

Now, if you relax even a little, the soreness is amplified infinitely.

"Are you out here again, trying to earn a living and get rich?"

With practiced ease, the doctor took out a series of medical tools and began to treat Hermes' wounds.

I couldn't help but marvel at how lucky this guy was.

"I guess so, I made a decent profit."

Hermes tried to relax his body as much as possible, with veins bulging on his neck and muscles twitching from the pain. He still didn't have anesthesia and had to rely on one hand to hold on.

"Bear with it."

The doctor began setting Hermes' bones; there was a lot to do.

after an hour.

Hermes' upper body was almost entirely covered in bandages. The doctor wiped the cold sweat from his forehead with a sense of accomplishment, especially since the Beli in his hand smelled particularly good.

This guy is his wealthy patron.

"Young man, for the sake of your life, I suggest you take a good rest during this period."

Thank you for your suggestion.

Hermes waved his hand, leaving the doctor with only a dashing, unrestrained silhouette.
