Chapter 27 - Chapter 4: Absolutely Not Sleeping There

We did not knock.

Kaito just opened Aizawa's office door.

The entire friend group followed behind us like we were reporting a crime scene.

Aizawa looked up slowly from his desk.

He took one look at our faces.

"…What happened."

I didn't sit down.

I didn't even fully step inside.

"She was in my bed."

Silence.

You could actually hear Denki inhale.

Mina slapped both hands over her mouth. "NO."

Bakugou's expression went from annoyed to murderous in half a second.

Crowe stood.

Not fast.

Not dramatic.

But immediate.

"Explain," he said.

Five minutes later, we were all talking over each other.

"She left HAIR—"

"On his pillow—"

"And she wrote in his notebook—"

"She circled the time stamp—"

"She was IN the room—"

Aizawa raised one hand.

Silence.

"Ren," he said evenly. "Start from the beginning."

I rubbed my face.

"Door was locked. Windows were closed. No forced entry. She left a note. A strand of hair. And wrote in my Pulse log."

Aizawa's jaw tightened very slightly at that last part.

"She made it clear it was intentional," I added. "Not random."

Denki leaned forward. "It was like… psychologically aggressive but polite?"

Bakugou shot him a look. "That's not a thing."

"It is now," Denki muttered.

Mina crossed her arms. "She's escalating."

"Yes," Aizawa agreed calmly.

Kirishima cracked his knuckles. "So what's the plan?"

Aizawa looked at me.

"Are you safe?"

"Physically? Yeah."

"Emotionally?"

I blinked.

"…Define emotionally."

Bakugou scoffed lightly. "He looks like he hasn't slept."

"I haven't," I said flatly.

And that's when the exhaustion hit me again.

I dragged a hand through my hair.

"We need to burn the dorm down."

Everyone froze.

Aizawa blinked once.

Denki choked.

I immediately raised my hands.

"Joking. I'm joking. Obviously."

Mina started laughing first.

"Oh my gosh, you scared me for a second!"

Bakugou actually smirked. "You're not that dramatic."

"Yes I am," I said. "She was in my bed."

Denki pointed. "Fair point."

I rubbed my temples again.

"Well I'm definitely not sleeping on there, that's for sure."

Kaito nodded immediately. "Yeah, no. That bed is haunted now."

"It's not haunted," Midoriya said automatically.

"It is emotionally haunted," Mina corrected.

Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose briefly.

"This is not humorous," he said calmly.

We all tried to look serious.

It lasted maybe three seconds.

"I mean I'm not wrong," I muttered. "She sat on it. Or stood on it. Or— I don't even want to think about it."

Denki shuddered dramatically. "She probably looked around like 'wow this is where he dreams.'"

"Stop," I said immediately.

Mina burst out laughing again.

Bakugou rolled his eyes. "You're all idiots."

Aizawa let the noise settle before speaking again.

"You will not burn the dorm," he said plainly.

"Aw," I muttered.

"You will not relocate rooms without permission."

"Double aw."

"You will, however," he continued, "temporarily change sleeping arrangements."

That got our attention.

Kaito blinked. "Like… rotations?"

"Yes," Aizawa said. "No one sleeps alone for now."

The room got quieter.

"That way," he continued, "if she attempts entry again, she loses the element of isolation."

Mina nodded. "Group sleepover arc."

Aizawa ignored that.

Bakugou crossed his arms. "So we're basically bait."

"Controlled visibility," Aizawa corrected.

Midoriya was already writing that phrase down.

I leaned back against the wall.

"She wanted me to know she could get in," I said quietly.

Crowe's eyes shifted to me again.

"And now she knows you're reporting directly to me," he replied.

That made my stomach drop slightly.

Denki frowned. "Is that bad?"

"It changes the dynamic," Crowe said. "This is no longer observation. It is engagement."

Mina's smile faded a little.

"So what do we do?"

Crowe looked at all of us.

"We do not panic," he said. "We do not escalate emotionally. We tighten internal security quietly."

His gaze landed on me again.

"And you will sleep."

I gave him a look. "On what. The floor?"

Bakugou snorted. "You can sleep on Kirishima's bed. He won't care."

"I care a little," Kirishima said.

"Or," Mina grinned, "we all crash in the common room tonight."

Denki gasped. "Fort arc."

Crowe closed his tablet.

"You may use the common room. Lights low. No windows open. Rotational watch."

We all stared at him.

"Wait," I said slowly. "You're actually allowing that?"

"Yes."

Denki whispered dramatically, "He's evolving."

Crowe gave him a look.

He stopped.

I exhaled slowly.

The Pulse was quiet again.

Not gone.

Just… waiting.

And for the first time since seeing that note on my bed, I didn't feel alone with it.

Still not sleeping in that bed though.

Absolutely not.
