Chapter 92 - Chapter 3: Principal’s Theory

After gym class, things somehow got even stranger.

Which was impressive, considering villains had attended class, Himiko Toga had been teleported twice, and I had apparently learned how to redirect attacks.

But apparently Nezu had been watching the entire thing.

Which meant one thing.

Principal meeting.

Principal's Office

I sat in a chair across from the desk.

Behind me stood Shota Aizawa, looking exactly as tired as usual.

Leaning against the wall was Dabi, arms crossed.

On another chair sat Tomura Shigaraki, scratching his neck impatiently.

And standing politely beside the window was Kurogiri.

The strangest meeting in U.A. High School history.

Principal Nezu folded his small paws together on the desk.

"Ren."

"…Yes?"

"Your quirk is developing faster than expected."

I scratched my head.

"Yeah I noticed."

Aizawa crossed his arms.

"You teleported people."

"Yep."

"You closed Kurogiri's portal."

"…Yep."

"You redirected an attack."

"…Yep."

Nezu nodded slowly.

"Fascinating."

Shigaraki leaned back in his chair.

"…Can we get to the point."

Nezu turned his chair slightly.

"I believe Ren's quirk is not simply teleportation."

Everyone looked at him.

Nezu continued.

"It appears to be spatial authority."

Silence.

Denki wasn't here, but I could practically hear him yelling "WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?!"

I blinked.

"…In English?"

Nezu smiled.

"It means you may be able to control space itself."

Everyone went quiet.

Even Dabi straightened a little.

Shigaraki stopped scratching his neck.

Aizawa looked thoughtful.

I stared at my hands.

"…That sounds bad."

Nezu shook his head.

"Not bad."

He leaned forward slightly.

"Powerful."

The Test

Aizawa pointed toward the training field outside.

"Let's confirm."

Five minutes later we stood outside again.

Nezu sat calmly on a nearby platform watching.

Aizawa tossed a small metal training ball into the air.

"Move it."

"…Without teleporting?"

"Yes."

I focused.

The ball hung in the air.

The space around it twisted slightly.

And suddenly—

It shifted sideways.

Like someone had grabbed the air and pushed it.

The ball slammed into a wall.

Everyone stared.

Dabi whistled softly.

"…That's new."

Kurogiri nodded.

"A remarkable spatial distortion."

Shigaraki muttered.

"…You're getting annoying."

Nezu clapped happily.

"Excellent!"

I blinked.

"…That felt easy."

Aizawa rubbed his chin.

"You're learning faster now."

Then Nezu raised one finger.

"But that raises an important question."

Everyone looked at him.

"What happens if Ren's power keeps evolving?"

I didn't like that question.

At all.

Across the City

Meanwhile…

On the beach.

Toga sat in the sand kicking her feet happily.

She looked out at the ocean.

Then toward the city.

She tilted her head.

"…I should go back."

Then suddenly—

A black portal opened behind her.

But it wasn't Ren's.

From it stepped a tall figure.

Dressed in a dark coat.

Watching the ocean quietly.

Toga looked at him curiously.

"…Oh?"

The man glanced down at her.

"You're looking for someone."

She smiled.

"Ren!"

The man looked toward the distant city skyline.

"…Interesting."

He stepped back into the portal.

Before leaving, he said one thing.

"I think I'd like to meet him."

The portal closed.

Toga blinked.

"…New friend?"

Then she jumped up.

"Time to find Ren again!"

Back at U.A.

At the training field I suddenly felt something strange.

A ripple.

Like space had moved somewhere far away.

I looked toward the city.

"…Did anyone else feel that?"

Aizawa looked at me.

"Feel what."

I frowned.

"…I don't know."

Nezu watched quietly.

His expression had changed.

And for the first time…

He looked slightly concerned.

Because something new had just entered the story.
