Chapter 94 - Chapter 5: So Many Verses

My room in U.A. High School was still a mess.

Smoke slowly drifted through the air from my accidental "Spatial Blast."

A chair was flipped over.

My desk had slid halfway across the floor.

And the door was slightly cracked from the shockwave.

Across the room, Tomura Shigaraki had retrieved his controller and was staring at it like it had betrayed him.

"This thing flew across the room."

Leaning against the wall, Dabi was still smirking.

"I can't believe your first idea was anime attacks."

Near the doorway, Kurogiri calmly cleaned up the broken glass from earlier.

"A remarkable display of spatial compression."

Meanwhile I was sitting on my bed.

Staring at my hands again.

Thinking.

Hard.

Very hard.

Because something even crazier had just hit me.

A thought.

A dangerous thought.

I slowly looked up.

"…Wait."

Dabi glanced at me.

"…Oh no."

Shigaraki looked over too.

"…What now."

I stood up slowly.

"If I can control space…"

They both watched me carefully now.

"And if I can distort reality around me…"

Dabi sighed already.

"…Ren."

"…Then theoretically…"

My brain exploded with possibilities.

"…I could open portals to other universes."

Silence.

Complete silence.

Shigaraki stared.

"…You're joking."

I started pacing around the room.

"No, think about it!"

Kurogiri tilted his head with interest.

"Please elaborate."

I pointed dramatically at the air like a crazy scientist.

"If space connects everything…"

"Yeah," Dabi said slowly.

"…Then maybe it connects fictional universes too!"

Shigaraki blinked.

"…That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

But my brain was already racing.

So many ideas were firing at once.

"So many places…"

I started listing them out loud.

"Like…"

I raised one finger.

"I could go to the world of Dragon Ball!"

Dabi groaned.

"Oh my god."

"Imagine it!" I continued excitedly. "Training with Goku!"

My eyes widened even more.

"…Could I go Super Saiyan?!"

Shigaraki rubbed his face.

"…You cannot go Super Saiyan."

I ignored him.

"And then there's horror universes!"

I raised another finger.

"The world of Five Nights at Freddy's!"

Dabi stared.

"…Why would you WANT to go there."

"I could meet Freddy!"

Shigaraki immediately responded.

"That bear would murder you."

I kept going.

"And Poppy Playtime!"

Kurogiri looked intrigued.

"A mysterious toy factory universe."

"Exactly!"

My brain kept firing ideas.

"And Tokyo Ghoul!"

Dabi raised an eyebrow.

"…Okay that one's actually dangerous."

I pointed at the ceiling dramatically.

"There are so many universes!"

I spun around excitedly.

"Anime!"

"Games!"

"Everything!"

Then I stopped.

Completely still.

A single sentence forming in my head.

"…I need to find out."

Shigaraki stared at me.

"…Do NOT tear open reality."

Too late.

The Attempt

I stepped into the middle of the room.

The air started to twist around my hand.

Kurogiri watched closely.

"Ren."

Dabi crossed his arms.

"This is a terrible idea."

Shigaraki stood up immediately.

"Don't do it."

I focused harder.

If space connected everything…

Then I just had to find the right point.

The right coordinate.

The air began to ripple.

The room lights flickered.

Reality bent slightly.

Dabi's expression changed.

"…Okay that's new."

Kurogiri's mist swirled uneasily.

"Ren…"

The air suddenly cracked like glass.

A tiny black tear appeared in front of me.

Everyone froze.

Through the tear…

Something moved.

Yellow lights.

Metal.

A mechanical sound.

"…Is that—" Dabi started.

Then the tear snapped shut.

The room went completely silent.

Shigaraki slowly sat back down.

"…You almost opened a portal."

Kurogiri nodded.

"Not a teleport."

"A dimensional breach."

My heart was racing.

I stared at the empty air where the tear had been.

"…I saw something."

Dabi raised an eyebrow.

"…What."

I swallowed.

"…Animatronic eyes."

Silence.

Then Shigaraki muttered:

"…You almost opened Five Nights at Freddy's."

I slowly grinned.

"…That means it worked."

Dabi immediately pointed at me.

"NO."

But my brain was already racing again.

Because if I was that close…

Then maybe…

Just maybe…

I really could open a portal to another universe.
