Chapter 135 - MCA Chapter 134: Witness to Bonds

Senju Park.

Asuma, Kurenai, and the others were gathered around Kakashi and Obito, asking about the Jonin conference.

The Third Hokage hadn't issued a gag order, so Obito told them everything.

Mainly about Kushina being the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki, which everyone had already heard about in the Hokage Office.

Hayate said with some emotion, "I didn't expect the Nine-Tails to be the Village's Tailed Beast, and Kushina-senpai to be the Nine-Tails Jinchuriki."

Ebisu adjusted his sunglasses, "No wonder I always felt a sense of dread when I was around her. So, the strongest Tailed Beast, the Nine-Tails, is inside Kushina-senpai's belly."

Yūgao asked, "Aren't you scared? That's the Nine-Tails! The legendary natural disaster."

"If the Nine-Tails in Kushina-senpai's belly were to be unsealed, who knows who could control it?"

Obito stepped forward and said somewhat proudly, "That would naturally be me, Obito. I now have the Sharingan and Wood Release."

"Both powers specialize in Tailed Beasts."

His companions immediately refuted Obito.

"You're bragging!"

"Obito, your Sharingan can't even put me in a Genjutsu; it just looks intimidating."

"And Wood Release, try using it once."

"Stop making fun of Obito, go buy him some melon seeds!"

Obito was a bit annoyed and stood up, "Is this how you speak to your superior? I am a Jonin now, your senior."

Asuma pointed at Obito and said, "Obito, don't get ahead of yourself. Next time there's a major mission, I'll definitely apply, and then I can become a Jonin too."

Obito was about to say something when Kakashi grabbed his hand.

"Obito, come with me for a moment."

"Kakashi, what are you doing? Don't take me into the small woods!"

Sakumo watched from the shadows as Kakashi led Obito into the small woods.

Kakashi was seven years old when he committed suicide; five or six years had passed, and Kakashi was now a teenager.

Sakumo felt a surge of emotion, and even deeper guilt.

He was not a qualified Ninja, let alone a qualified father.

Kakashi led Obito into the small woods.

Obito was a bit wary, "Kakashi, what do you want? I'm telling you, I only love Rin in my life."

Kakashi pushed up his forehead protector, revealing his Sharingan, "Obito, I should return your eye to you!"

The Sharingan can only unleash its true power when paired.

Kakashi's Sharingan was a gift from Obito when he was crushed by a large rock and felt there was no hope, given to Kakashi to help him become a Jonin.

Although it had been a great help to Kakashi, for Obito's future, Kakashi wanted to return his Sharingan.

Obito shook his head vigorously, "No, Kakashi, why would you take back something you've given away?"

"That eye was my gift to you; it's a testament to our bond!"

Kakashi shook his head, "For me, every time I use your Sharingan, I remember that day. I was a Ninja who only cared about missions."

"It was my arrogance that put you in danger; it was me, your captain, who failed to protect you and Rin."

Sakumo listened intently. Before coming, he had heard about Kakashi from Orochimaru.

After his suicide, Kakashi changed. His eyes only saw missions; he became cold-blooded, completely transforming into a cold tool for missions.

Sakumo felt extremely guilty. It was his weakness that turned Kakashi into a mission machine.

Obito patted Kakashi's shoulder, "Kakashi, even though you used to be arrogant, conceited, and always showed off..."

Obito listed a string of Kakashi's flaws, and the more he spoke, the more dark lines appeared on Kakashi's face.

Is he never going to stop?!

"But you have always been an excellent Ninja. Those days under Uchiha Madara felt like hell."

"If Ryou hadn't shocked me every day, I wouldn't even know if I was still human!"

"Now that I've escaped, I must cherish all of this. The Sharingan is a testament to our bond, my gift to you as a Jonin. It's yours."

"Obito..."

Kakashi's eyes were full of Obito; he didn't know what to say.

Sakumo looked at Obito, as if seeing his past self.

Understanding that some things have no right or wrong, yet still firmly doing what one believes in and taking responsibility for it.

Did Sakumo take responsibility?

No!

When he was slandered by the masses, his choice was to escape. When the Village and the country suffered heavy losses due to his failed mission, he ended it all by committing suicide.

He was never a qualified Ninja.

Sakumo looked at his hands, which seemed to be pieced together like paper. Perhaps he was summoned to the present world to bear his past responsibilities.

The Ninja World must not be dominated by Madara. Even if it means being torn to pieces, he must protect Kakashi and Obito's dreams.

Sakumo silently watched the future of the Village from the shadows.

No matter how Kakashi tried to return it, Obito simply wouldn't accept it.

Just like in the original work, the darkened Obito had countless opportunities to reclaim his Sharingan, but he never did.

The Sharingan on Kakashi's body was a symbol of their friendship; it was more than just a Sharingan.

It was the hope that the simple young man named Obito had placed in Kakashi.

If Obito didn't take back his eye, then his left eye would be blind.

Obito didn't mind, "It's not a big deal. With the insight of the Sharingan, I can see very clearly even with just one eye."

Rin shook her head, "No, eyes are better in pairs."

Seeing Kakashi and Obito in the small woods for so long, Rin was afraid Kakashi would change his mind, so she quickly came to interrupt their 'bromance'.

Since Rin came, Asuma, Kurenai, and the others also followed.

Ebisu suggested, "How about Kakashi and Obito just hold hands forever and never separate? That way their eyes will be paired."

"Get out of here!"

Obito kicked Ebisu, sending him to the side.

Obito smiled foolishly at Rin, "Rin, what do you think I should do? I'll listen to you."

Rin said, "The Uchiha should have spare Sharingan. Go ask Senior Mikoto and try to apply for one Sharingan."

During the Third Great Ninja War, the Uchiha Clan of Konoha was also a main fighting force. Itachi was already fighting before he even entered the Ninja Academy, let alone the Uchiha elite?

Whenever there's war, people die, and many of them had awakened the Sharingan.

The Uchiha Clan has a special squad in the Police Force that deals with clan members' bodies. Such powerful Sharingan wouldn't just be destroyed.

Unlike the Hyuga Clan, the Uchiha have always relied on their formidable strength to deter others' greed for the Sharingan.

Anyone who dares to seize a Uchiha's Sharingan is an archenemy of the Uchiha!

Once the Uchiha's 'bounty' is issued, the Ninja World will tremble.

"This..."

Obito stammered a bit. Someone like him could just make do; there was no need to trouble others.

Rin put her hands on her hips and said, "Obito, you're a Jonin of the Village now; you should be more courageous."

"Besides, you've done such great service for the Village; the Uchiha should reward you."

Obito mustered his courage, "Okay, I'll go to the Police Force to apply when I return to the clan."

Ebisu leaned in, "Can you apply for one for me too? I also want to have a Sharingan."

"Get out of here!"
