While the Pandemonium Legion prepared to move, Belladonna slowly stepped out of the council chamber and made her way toward the Project X chamber, where the high-value super soldiers were being kept.
She walked calmly through the long steel hallways with two elite enhanced soldiers positioned at both of her sides, their footsteps echoing heavily against the metallic floor, Belladonna kept her hands behind her back, carrying herself with the composed authority of a true ruler.
The deeper they traveled into the facility, the colder the atmosphere became, warning lights flickered faintly across the walls while the distant sounds of machinery echoed throughout the underground base.
Eventually, Belladonna arrived at the Project X chamber inside, all five Project X soldiers were already awake.
Massive super soldiers stood lined up perfectly along the right side of the chamber, their towering bodies completely motionless, their muscles were unnaturally dense and brutal in appearance, veins glowing with a neon-blue light beneath their skin as the enhancement substance continued flowing through their systems.
A Vice Commander stood nearby reviewing sheets of paper containing their vitals and physical readings, moment he noticed Belladonna standing there, he immediately straightened himself and saluted.
"They're ready to be deployed, Supreme Ruler," the Vice Commander reported firmly. "Vitals are stable, and their bodies have fully adapted to the substance."
Belladonna slowly walked past the line of Project X soldiers, carefully observing each one.
Their bodies were tense, not from fear, nor from anxiety, but from the overwhelming pressure of power forced into their systems air around them almost vibrated unnaturally.
Belladonna's golden eyes narrowed slightly before she glanced back toward the Vice Commander.
"Prepare the army," she ordered calmly.
Then her gaze shifted toward the massive steel hallway leading deeper into the underground facility, towards Section B.
"And ready that monster as well."
She pointed toward the containment sector where something violent continued slamming against reinforced walls deep within the darkness...
While that was happening, far away within the cold mountains at Seraphine's place, Solarynth, Asura, and Steelbeard were preparing to return to the kingdom.
Mountain winds drifted heavily across the training grounds, carrying a strange feeling with them the atmosphere was no longer felt calm nor peaceful like before, ever since Steelbeard delivered the news about the Pandemonium Legion, tension had settled over the mountains like an approaching storm.
Solarynth's white hair swayed quietly against the freezing wind as he stood near the exit gate his sharp eyes stared toward the distant horizon where the kingdom rested far below the mountains.
Asura stood nearby with his arms crossed, his dark outfit fluttering slightly beneath the cold breeze, while Steelbeard adjusted the heavy equipment strapped behind his back.
The three were already prepared to leave Seraphine's territory when suddenly..
"Hey!"
Seraphine's voice called out from behind them, the three turned around as Seraphine walked toward Solarynth with something folded carefully within her hands, her expression was calmer than usual, though there was still that strict teacher aura around her.
She stopped directly in front of him before holding the item out.
"Take this since you're my student," Seraphine said firmly, solarynth looked down slightly as she handed him a long white trench coat.
The coat was elegant yet simple, flowing cleanly with dark inner lining beneath the fabric it carried the symbol of Seraphine's teachings a white coat only given to the best student she had ever trained.
White represented hope.
For a moment, Solarynth remained silent while staring at it.
Then he slowly took the trench coat into his hands before putting it on over his black button-down dress shirt tucked neatly into slim-fit black trousers, when the white fabric flowed behind him naturally as the cold wind passed through the mountain gate.
Steelbeard raised a brow before letting out a rough whistle.
"Well damn… look at you now, you went from looking like a lost criminal to some legendary hero out of a storybook."
Asura stared at Solarynth for a moment in visible awe.
The white coat suited him perfectly, combined with his white hair, calm expression, and unnatural celestial presence, Solarynth looked completely different now.
Fresh and clean.
Dangerously composed, Asura immediately looked back toward Seraphine with clear expectation in his eyes.
Seraphine crossed her arms almost instantly "Sorry, Asura," she said bluntly. "That coat is for the best student."
Asura's expression darkened immediately.
"You've got to be kidding me..."
Steelbeard burst out laughing while Solarynth quietly adjusted the sleeves of the trench coat.
Despite the war waiting ahead of them, the atmosphere became slightly lighter again...
While the three began moving once again, they started making their way down from the mountains to return to the kingdom, cold winds followed behind them as their footsteps echoed across the rocky paths, leaving Seraphine's training grounds farther and farther in the distance.
Then at the kingdom at the royal palace, massive doors of the royal throne room opened as the Four Pillars finally returned from the frontier, Grimwatch's heavy armor echoed against the polished marble floor while Alaric leaned slightly against his cane, Shay walked with visible injuries beneath his damaged mask, and Elyndra kept one arm wrapped carefully from the wounds she sustained earlier.
Before they could fully approach the throne, a voice suddenly called out.
"Big brother!"
Alexander came running through the hallway with worried before stopping beside Grimwatch, his eyes immediately noticed the dents carved into the massive warrior's armor.
"You came back late again," Alexander said quietly. "Did something happen out there?"
Grimwatch looked down at him for a brief moment before resting a gauntleted hand on his shoulder.
"I'm busy right now," Grimwatch replied in a calmer tone than usual. "We'll talk later."
Alexander nodded slightly before stepping aside as the atmosphere inside the throne room became serious once again, Alaric adjusted his glasses before speaking first. "The Pandemonium Legion is moving far sooner than expected."
Elyndra crossed her arms carefully despite the pain. "And they're not ordinary soldiers anymore, their enhanced troops are far stronger than our reports claimed."
Shay let out a dry cough before wiping blood from beneath his broken mask. "One elite soldier nearly killed me alone if they send an entire army like that… this kingdom's in trouble..."
The room fell silent, even Grimwatch's expression hardened further, far outside the capital walls, the kingdom had already begun preparing for war.
Spartan soldiers tightened heavy steel armor across their bodies while blacksmiths hammered glowing metal beside burning furnaces.
Royal knights mounted armored horses as commanders shouted formations across the courtyard.
"Move faster!"
"Archers, prepare the eastern towers!"
Rows of archers sharpened arrowheads carefully before dipping them into enchanted oil, supply wagons rolled across the stone roads while healers carried crates of medicine toward military camps.
The entire kingdom moved with urgency, everyone understood one thing, war was coming, deep beneath the royal palace, hidden far below the kingdom itself, an old chamber remained sealed behind massive stone doors covered in ancient markings.
Inside the darkness, blue symbols glowed faintly across the walls an elderly man wearing silver robes stood silently before a massive crystal floating at the center of the chamber, the crystal pulsed unnaturally, almost as though it were alive.
One of the royal guards stepped forward nervously.
"Your Majesty… are we truly going to use that?"
The old man did not answer immediately, instead, he stared into the crystal as faint whispers echoed from inside it.
"The Pandemonium Legion has begun moving sooner than expected," he said quietly. "If the Four Pillars fail… then we may have no choice."
The guard swallowed hard.
"But that power was forbidden."
The old man slowly closed his eyes.
"I know..."
Far away, beyond mountains and valleys, thunder rumbled across the skies, something ancient was beginning to awaken and watch over them.
